This wasn't vandalism. It may not have been the most helpful edit in the world, as incumbent is already included elsewhere in the infobox, but it certainly wasn't vandalism. - auburnpilot talk 03:30, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
- I was going to revert my own edit, but thanks. —BoL 03:30, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
- Again, this isn't vandalism either. It is a factually accurate addition, and could be sourced with this article from USAToday.com. You really need to be more careful. - auburnpilot talk 01:21, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

Seriously here, I spend a lot of time on Wikipedia, like 2/3 of my day. I'm just an ordinary editor, like you. I try to help where I can, like you. I write articles, and improve others, when I can. I saw the "shops" thing going on, but had better things to do than get involved. You had some good advice from Kurykh just above. Please, your heart is in the right place, but you need to think a little more before wading in too deep sometimes. As for vandals, they piss us all off, but help is at hand. Just chill a little. --Rodhullandemu (Talk) 05:42, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

Questions about PWee (sorry if you want to forget about him, I've been busy and need to catch up)
Has he been blocked? Are there any new puppets? What about checkusers? What kind of vandalism is he conducting? Do you see any way to stop him outside of blocking any IP he may use? Please respond on my talk. Thanks, --Gp75motorsports REV LIMITER 12:04, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

I regretfully decline this offer. I don't really think I'm ready just yet, but I am willing to try, say, in March. I'll contact you when I would like to be nominated. Thanks for the offer, though! Jonathan § 23:47, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

Hey jack...
...can you create a doppleganger account called User:Jack Merridou? I'll be using that account to create a checkuser log for him and his IPs, so we can have its other IPs blocked. —BoL 23:14, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
- He seems to have gotten there first. I'm all for hobbling this character, but I don't see how my creating a new account will help. email me and he'll not have a chance to snag whatever name gets used. Thanks. --Jack Merridew 06:36, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
- I have created User:Jack Merridew (doppelganger) and endorsed that it is me from this account. All should be clear enough from the user/talk pages and their histories. What's next? --Jack Merridew 06:52, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
- That's not good enough. You need to think of all the names that can be impersonated and create them, and then tag them with {{doppleganger}}. If you need help, let me know. —BoL 01:15, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, I misunderstood. I don't see it as practical to reserve all possible variations on my username. This would only amount to a challenge to whomever to come up with something I missed. I also don't care to engage in an exercise in self-deprecating naming. I was really more interested in preventing the harassment than the impersonation. --Jack Merridew 09:12, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
PeeWee
25 January? That's it?! He deserves to be indeffed. I hope whoever blocked him learns their lesson next time. I'd think that such a short block would only fuel his activities. --Gp75motorsports REV LIMITER 11:40, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
- IPs cannot be indeffed. The longest anyone can be blocked is between one year to 30 years (yes, accounts have been blocked for 30 years I've heard at AIV.) —BoL 01:15, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

Potential vandal alert
Hey, BoL I've found another potential troll. He is User:NikhtaSt and he already has three vandalism warnings on his page. That's bad considering he's only been here a little while (the abscence of a userpage signifies a new user). Let's watch this guy. I don't like the way it's looking. Marman Twin SD request
DOn't know if you read the link, but that article and the page it referenced are not spam. The Marman is a vintage motorcycle, and the reference page was an enthusiast page on the bike. I posed a hangon tag for the original editor, as I think your request was premature. Cheers. Bagheera (talk) 02:38, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

East Los Streetscapers
Hey amigo, what's up? I was just kind of wondering what's going on with the article. It looks, from your comments on the talk of the article's creator, like your impression is that the article is self-promotional or intended to spam. May I gently remind you of the guideline to assume good faith? He only has 19 edits, so it's also important to remember not to bite the the newcomers.
What I'm wondering is why you are using "Friendly" to automatically tag the article with {{refimprove}}? Wouldn't that be something you would want to check first, rather than using a bot to haphazardly accuse editors of not adequately citing their sources? Please have another look at the article to determine whether the referencing meets your standards, now that a somewhat experienced editor has had a crack at it. And I would ask you to reconsider your use of this bot, seeing as how it can be taken offensively.
Gracias, --Rockero (talk) 06:01, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
- It's not a bot, homie. It's a program. And the reason why I use the {{refimprove}} tag because it doesn't seem to be enough with the notability, and i'll try to remember that next time. —BoL 06:03, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
- What do you mean by "it doesn't seem to be enough with the notability"? What will you try to remember? I second the editor who asked you to communicate your ideas clearly. I can't tell if you're trying to dissimulate or are just having a hard time expressing yourself. Would you care to elaborate?--Rockero (talk) 06:11, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
- Relax, I've removed the tag. It could still be expanded more, I'll do some research on it. —BoL 00:39, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

LSE Article
Hi, I was merely trying to re-order and clean up the alumni and notable staff section, which had become clogged down with people adding alumni in random places in the middle of sentences, mnaking no sense, and in one big block of text, which did not make readable viewing. I trust this is ok, surely be reorganising it into categories and into paragraphs, it is better for the reader? With regards to the information itself, only one or two names have been updated for fit the current situation as of January 2008. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.86.148.24 (talk) 02:09, 12 January 2008 (UTC) HOW DO I SIGN THIS, I'M MERELY TRYING TO MAKE A JUSTIFIABLE CHANGE!!!

That sounds really like the 'please be nice and i'll be nice comments back' that you mention on your talk page - I don't know how to use all this signature, User: WPR crap on wikipedia, merely editing articles, so I'm trying here and would appreciate it if you didn't get all "ja, ja, ja... i'm not going to bother etc." as that isn't achieving anything. Please explain the conflict of intertest here, as I have merely reordered/formatted the section to enable it to be easier read and understood, the article itself remains factual as with many other university/school etc. alumni sections.I believe i have to sign something like this 128.86.148.24 (talk) 02:31, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
- That's how most rules go around here. And to sign, you simply enter 4 tildes, like you did. And not only that, yes, if they do something bad like put them all over the place, you just simply move/revert, and warn. It's easy as 1-2. Click here for a list of user warnings. You know, you should really consider getting an account. And your conflict of interest is you have some interest with the article like cleaning it up and improving it (I'm not saying you're converting it into a spam article), but, yeah, WP:COI has the answers to your problems. If I cannot think of it, I will remove the tag. —BoL 02:35, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
Hi, thank you for responding. Yes, I can see your concern, but reading through the article COI I can't see how I am self-promoting the institution, other than that of an alumni section on anything would indirectly provide cause to do so, and am certainly not receiving money, funds etc. or any otherf things that would entice me in such a way. My reasons for the edit, were purely to create a more cohesive article, easier to read, and ordered in such a way as it makes more sense, rather than a list of names in one article where there was no coherance. Thanks, 128.86.148.24 (talk) 02:40, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

If you disapprove, just delete it. I was going to file it to see whether they were the same user, because, apparently, if you look at their userpages, they all don't know how to use images here, and they all give each other a Wikilove and use their talk pages as a forum. I've already gave them a level 3 warning, let's see how it goes... Best, —BoL 03:49, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
BoL, are you aiming for a topic ban restricting you to article space only? You should really consider leaving off your focus on vandal-whacking for awhile, particularly as it relates to this PeeWee character. You've got a long history now of seeing ghosts and catching up innocent editors in your 'strategy' with Gp, and a lot of people are keeping an eye on you as a result. As many others have advised - you should consider restricting yourself to building the encyclopedia, or ultimately it will be done for you. Avruchtalk 21:53, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

- Yeah, at this point I think you might do best to confine your editing to mainspace, and, ideally, to substantive editing (as against, for instance, reversion of that which you adjudge to be vandalism). I have myself been meaning to repeat those suggestions relative to your Twinkle-based editing that have been given to you previously and, in fact, that were emphasized to you a good bit ago when you edited under your old account. To be frank, a non-trivial portion of that which you revert as vandalism is emphatically not vandalism, and you have on more than a handful of occasions reverted as vandalism contributions that were plainly made in good faith and that served, even, to improve articles; such conduct is, irrespective of your motivations (the goodness of which no one doubts), unconstructive, and your improperly warning editors that they have vandalized may well bitily drive away potential contributors and must, then, be seen as having a deleterious effect on the project. Your contributions to UAA and your speedy taggings certainly are not marked by an error rate as significant as that which characterizes your Twinkle-based vandalism reversions, but they, too, sometimes tend unnecessarily to discourage good-faith contributions; addressing those unhelpful consequences, further, consumes the time of other editors and admins who might otherwise occupy themselves with more useful tasks. To be sure, the project is better for one's reverting and reporting vandals and tagging for speedy deletion those pages that are plainly unencyclopedic, but neither task should be undertaken at expense to other aspects of the project, and it is better always to err on the side of not reflexively templating another editor or an article on which he/she has worked. You seem, it appears, committed to aiding the project, and that is, of course, to be commended, but neither that commitment nor your [sometimes unclear, not unlike this note :)] repeated professions of your intent to change, will not forestall the community's acting to eliminate disruption and to revoke your editing privileges should it adjudge the net effect of your contributions on the project to be negative. I am sure, though, that the project would be better for your contributing content in mainspace, especially in view of that commitment, and so I urge you, lest the project should have, unfortunately, to separate from you, to follow the advice of others and to take on, at least until such time as you should become substantially better acquainted with policy, some lower-key, mainspace-centered tasks. - You stop doing stupid stuff that causes people to discuss you at ANI and AN? Metros (talk) 05:02, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
- OK, what do I do if I have an AN discussion and an ANI discussion going on about me? —BoL 05:01, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
Sorry!
I'm really sorry about the stuff you mentioned on my talk page. I didn't mean to do anything wrong. I'll try to do better. Thanks for pointing out my mistakes. A pyrate's life for me... (talk) 18:51, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
I'm sorry too. Basically, just read the above comments and you'll know what i would have said if a pyrate's life for me... hadn't gotten here first. Sorry, and thanks for telling me before i got kicked off. Ichliebezuko (talk) 19:22, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
Your NPWatcher application
Dear Blow of Light,
Thank you for applying for NPWatcher! Unfortunately, your application has been declined because lack of understanding of the speedy deletion criterias.
Talk
hello. I wanted to ask you something. You said on my talk page that I had to stop or I might be kicked off, and I was wondering what I was doing wrong. I was just wondering, so whatever I was doing wrong, I could stop doing it. Thanks,
- You were social networking with your friends over there, I suggest you get cracking on some articles otherwise you'll get blocked, although I don't have the power to block or kick someone off, so, yeah, I suggest you build up on some mainspace. We are an encyclopedia, you know. —BoL 04:48, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
Should i quit wiki ?
- Could you give me your opinion? I have had it by getting fanatics ignoring tons of primary and secondary sources, history, archeology, linguistics and still they insist on their Dogma of things.I just have to repost or tell them off but they have infinite ip's and keep on trolling misquoting lying and generally keep doing the same stuff all over.It seems even if they had a time machine and they saw that Aristotle was Greek they would shoot him come back and tell everyone that he was an albanian or a slav. How do you cope?Megistias (talk) 20:43, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
- Dude, don't quit! I'm already ready to quit, but guess what? I ain't going down witout a fight. So I suggest you repost it, and if those anons cause you trouble, you report them to WP:AIV, and then request protection at WP:RPP. Don't leave, whatever you do. But, if you want, then, eh, your choice. Best, —BoL 04:48, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
Sorry, we weren't able to suggest any articles for you. Something is probably wrong on our end.
- Please see this at the final paragraphs so you know what i am talking about exactly. This is truly pointless.[1]Megistias (talk) 15:27, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
- Crap, I can't do much about it. You may want to seek administrator intervention by contacting an admin. Best, —BoL 00:03, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
Violation block
By editing this AFD, you have violated your topic ban knowingly and willingly. I have blocked you for 24 hours for this violation. Future violations of the ban will lead to extended blocks. Metros (talk) 00:44, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
- What about GP? —BoL 00:47, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
- He's also blocked. Equazcion •✗/C • 00:49, 17 Jan 2008 (UTC)
- You worry about you. He worries about him. Metros (talk) 00:50, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
- So, let me say this one more time: Can I upload images under a fair use rationale (in other words, can I edit the image space?) —BoL 00:52, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
I'm not an admin, but I see no problem with you editing the image space if it is done responsibly. However, if I were you, I wouldn't though. You've shown pretty poor judgment, as you've already been blocked once for violating your ban. Images and copyrights and fair use can get confusing and I think you could use a little more practice in actual editing before you try to tackle images. AniMate 02:33, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks, now I know. And you should be a sysop, you're very good. —BoL 01:16, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
