editThank you for recognizing the Joyce Kilmer article, i'm grateful... 1 hour and 56 minutes as GA nominee has to be a new record. —ExplorerCDT 20:05, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
January (WikiProject BBC Sitcoms)
editI think that three sitcoms (Bloomers (TV series), Brush Strokes, The Liver Birds) suggested by Berks105 would be a good place to start for January. What do you think? Which one should we concentrate on? Please post comments on the BBC Sitcoms talk page. Mollsmolyneux 19:09, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
P.S. Is this better?
Bloomers has been suggested because it would be an easy start, please leave you next comment on the project talk page. Glad you like the image! Mollsmolyneux 20:15, 1 January 2007 (UTC)

notable bands
editHi Bob,
I don't agree they are not notable just because they dont have a page on here. If you feel 'sad but true' and 'faceache' deserve mentioning thats fine but I've not heard of either of them.
I'll leave it you to replace them.
Cheers,

I am wondering if you could help me. Someone has objected to my removing links on the Rugby, Warwickshire article. I have explained why I think the links are bad on the talk page for the article. If you have a moment, could you have a look and see what you think? If these links ought to be left in place, it would be nice to know why for my future reference. Thank you, V1459 18:09, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
Fountains Abbey
editHi, I just noticed two edits you made to the Fountains Abbey article. I have just reverted them, see the talk page for more details and the discussion. The Abbey is a joint partnership between National Trust and English heritage, so have reinstated the category. As for the gallery, I feel it tidies the article. I have moved one image to the main text, as you suggested, to give it some colour. One of the main reasons for the revert however, was that you removed an edit to the article that included subcategories and wikifying of the information. I saw that you had an opps wikibox so thought it best to inform you. If you disagree and would like to discuss this, please visit my talk page or the Abbey talk page, thanks. Odd request
editHello there. Just dropping you a note as I notice you've been one of the main contributors to the One Foot in the Grave page, and I'm after a bit of information about one episode of that series. I've been doing a lot of work on our page for The Quatermass Experiment of late, and I remembered that it was once mentioned in One Foot in the Grave, and I thought this would be a good thing to mention in the "Reception and influence" section as an example of how it was still getting pop culture mentions forty-odd years after it was shown. If I'm going to mention it though I'll need to cite the episode properly, and I don't know which episode it was in.
The reference comes from Margaret, and is in reference to something Victor has done or what he looks like or something, about which she says it "looks like something out of The Quatermass Experiment". Any chance you happen to know which episode this was? Cheers! Angmering 18:13, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks anyway for your help! :-) I don't suppose you can think of another editor who might know? Angmering 21:41, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
St
editHi Bob -
I don't know if there is an actual guideline on it, but a point after a contraction such as "St" or "Mr" is unusual in formal British English, whereas it is usual in American English. See, for instance, the discussion at Talk:St Pancras railway station#Requested move. As the article in on a British topic, I've moved it to the more usual British English form. editThanks for your comment. It's amazing how much I can get done on here when I'm trying to avoid doing proper work! It's nice to get positive feedback. Cheers. Bobfos 12:44, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
Fawlty Towers
editWith regards to your revert of Michael Palin to Eric Idle on the bag-throwing issue on the Fawlty towers page - if this turns into an edit war, I thought I'd give you a little salient peice of information which you can use against the Palin-ites. Palin, along with Jones, Chapman and Gilliam, only stayed one night in the hotel because Sinclare was so unpleasant. Only Idle and Cleese stayed for the full period, therefore it was almost certain to have been Idle's bag which came a-cropper.--Crestville 10:26, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
BBC UK regional TV on satellite
editLet me put it this way, if you are happy enough I'm not going to argue. However just let me highlight a few problems I have with it that you can take into account if you like. The major thing that still bothers me is "Non-Sky Digital satellite users can find the Astra 2D tuning parameters here Lyngsat: Eurobird 1 & Astra 2A/2B/2D at 28.2°E." as I said in my review I think that belongs in ext. links. There's also that issue about ex-subscribers, that ref. I provided says an expired card will revert you to BBC London and that hasn't been resolved I think. A minor formatting issue is references after punctuation. Thanks for discussing this with me. Best regards, Mark83 21:28, 10 February 2007 (UTC)

The 39 Steps
editIt took time and effort to write a short piece about the theatrical adaptation of The 39 Steps, and I see you've removed it! Since when are you a Wikipedia censor? Do you dislike the theatre? Wikipedia, as if you need reminding, is for access to information for learning - to delete somebody elses work is unforgivable and rude. I ask you to put my writing back in (or make a play stub out of it) and stop meddling with other people's work. It makes a mockery of the principles of Wikipedia. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Rupertdegas (talk • contribs) 13:17, 4 March 2007 (UTC).
Subaru special edition pages
editHi Bob, thanks for checking out my articles. You mentioned about the press releases. There aren't any official websites (Such as Subaru UK) which still hold the press release. However, the two owners club for the RB5 and RB320 have them listed, but I'm the webmaster for both. So I decided NOT to link directly to them as I think that's advertising. Do you agree? I've put the link to the sites at the bottom as they are of interest. If the press release is again NPOV then I'm happy to link to the page on my website, if again that's ok?
Thanks
Steptoe and Son
editHello Bob
I am new to Wikipedia, so I may need a bit more understanding than I currently have.
I posted a link to a Steptoe and Son website that is endorsed by the writters Galton and Simpson and their Agent Tessa Le Barrs.
I think I am correct in saying that you removed the link.
I don't undestand why, could you help me understand please ?
If I am in breach of the rules I appologise, it is not intentional.
If you did not remove the link, again please accept my appologies. Perhaps you could help me find out who did remove it, so I can ask them.
Many thanks

Blackadder Goes Forth - Good Article Nomination
editHi Bob, I have reviewed Blackadder Goes Forth for the Good Article nomination. I have placed the article on hold pending two minor improvements required, hopefully these will be soon addressed and the article can be granted Good Article status. I have detailed my revied on Talk:Blackadder Goes Forth and am letting you know about this here as you are the nominator. - Waza 11:54, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

North East England Newsletter
editBob Castle/archive3, as mentioned on the Project Page, all the members will receive a newsletter informing them of all the latest news about WikiProject North East England. Their are a small selection of news stories in which I would like to bring to your attention:
As you will most probably know, the Project will be one month old in less than twenty four hours, so far the project appears to have been successful so far, almost five hundred articles have been tagged informing viewers that the article is within the scope of this project, the Project now has eight members which is good but I'm sure that will double or even triple within the time of the next newsletter
As mentioned above, urgent help is needed for tagging articles and rating them for their quality and their importance, by viewing:
and all of the subpages, a range of untagged articles can be found, there will be at least a thousand their in which require tagging and I/we need your help in doing this!
That is all for this newsletter, if you would like to bring anything to my attention or have any comments to make then please leave me a message on my talk page or leave a note on the Project talk page and I/someone will get back to you as soon as possible. Thank you for reading and I hope you are still enjoying being a member. Regards - Tellyaddict 20:47, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

editAnderson, 21 productions
editNot sure what to suggest really as the move has already happened. Maybe a new category can be created to move stuff out of Category:Century 21 Productions which doesn't belong there, but we would have to think of something other than Category:Gerry Anderson to house it. I'll think on it some more:) Tim! 07:43, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

Hello Bob. I notice from the talk page of the above-linked article that you commented last year about how it could do with some more referencing. Over the past couple of days I've been adding citations to it to try and help it pass a Featured Article Review it's currently undergoing, and I wondered if you could have a look at it and let me know if you think it's on the way to being well-cited? Thanks. Angmering 18:57, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

This is my complaint, right
editDon't revert my edits! The reason why i put "pops a barf filled bag" in Bean: The Ultimate Disaster Movie is because "uses the wrong bag" is just too cryptic. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.57.143.84 (talk • contribs)
I didn't realise the UK place infobox could have more than one image (the map taking up that space instead), else I'd have put it there straight away. Cheers johnwalton (talk) 14:36, 25 April 2007 (UTC)

editBob, While I appreciate your concern, I think you will find that the podcast link is not inappropriate but rather a valuable addition very much in keeping with the spirit of the page. What exactly was your concern? Steven —Preceding unsigned comment added by Drszucker (talk • contribs)
