Chicago terminals
editHeh, I didn't realize they were just created - I had been writing articles about the Lake Shore and Michigan Southern Railway which naturally led to Chicago. Would you happen to have detailed information about when each company used each station? For instance, the Nickel Plate used a station at 12th Street before it moved to LaSalle Street Station, and it may have used Central Station earlier given the way the tracks point towards a merge with the Illinois Central Railroad. --SPUI (talk) 02:37, 12 August 2005 (UTC)
- I'm assuming you mean the 1950s? The NYC had the Nickel Plate from 1882 to the 1910s. An 1897 map shows it going to a station on the NYC line at 12th Street, and a 1928 map in Trains magazine July 2003 shows it going to LaSalle (trackage rights were probably part of the agreement when the NYC sold the NKP). --SPUI (talk) 03:39, 12 August 2005 (UTC)

Metra-System.png
editDid you create this diagram on [Metra]? If so, what does the small white circle outlined in black indicate? I assumed it was for common stations of different lines, but then why does it appear at Pingree Road and not at Gresham, for example? Otherwise, the diagram is very cool. Thanks! --DAW0001 (talk) 15:42, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for checking in. I didn't create the present version of the map (I initiated that file with a map of my own, but someone replaced it). But it looks like those white circles indicate transfer stations--hence Pingree Road is where you'd change between mainline (Harvard-bound) trains on the UP-NW line and the McHenry branch. --Boreas231 (talk) 22:58, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
