Request reason:

Hi, I'm from Venezuela and my Internet server is CANTV. Currently because of the situation that is happening in my country, my Internet provider has blocked Wikipedia, so I do not have access and the only way to access Wikipedia is through VPN. · Bradford  10:59, 13 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

Your draft article, Draft:Falsa identidad

edit

Hello, Bradford. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Falsa identidad".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Liz Read! Talk! 04:51, 28 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of File:La vecina soundtrack.jpeg

edit
Notice

The file File:La vecina soundtrack.jpeg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-free album cover being used in a decorative manner in La vecina#Soundtrack. Non-free album cover art is generally allowed to be used for primary identification purposes in stand-alone articles about albums, but its use in other articles is generally only allowed when the cover art itself is the subject of sourced critical commentary as explained in WP:NFC#cite_note-3 and the context for non-free use required by WP:NFCC#8 is evident. There is no such commentary for this particular album cover anywhere in the article, and the use of soundtrack album cover art in articles about films or TV programs is generally not allowed for this reason as explained in WP:FILMSCORE.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- Marchjuly (talk) 04:33, 6 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

Question

edit

A bunch of redirects in the user space of your old account name were brought up in a recent ANI report. The report has been subsequently removed as the IP editor was apparently evading a block, but before that happened, I thought it was a legit report and took a look. I'm not sure if they're harassing you or what is going on, but do you want me to delete all the pages in the user space of your old account name, which redirect to your current user space? Or is there a reason to leave them alone? If this guy is trolling you about this, and I've been tricked into helping with the troll, then I'm sorry. --Floquenbeam (talk) 19:01, 19 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Floquenbeam: Is David Steven, a user who was blocked from Wikipedia in Spanish, and now seems to be harassing me. Not only does he do it here, he also does it in Wikipedia in Spanish. There also makes the same requests see: [1] and [2]. The best thing would be to ignore it.-- · Bradford  19:43, 19 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
OK, if you want to leave them there for some reason, I'll ignore it. --Floquenbeam (talk) 19:45, 19 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

New page reviewer granted

edit

Hi Bradford. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers" user group. Please check back at WP:PERM in case your user right is time limited or probationary. This user group allows you to review new pages through the Curation system and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or nominate them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encylopedia. If you have not already done so, you must read the tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the deletion policy. If you need any help or want to discuss the process, you are welcome to use the new page reviewer talk page. In addition, please remember:

  • Be nice to new editors. They are usually not aware that they are doing anything wrong. Do make use of the message feature when tagging pages for maintenance so that they are aware.
  • You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted. Please be formal and polite in your approach to them – even if they are not.
  • If you are not sure what to do with a page, don't review it – just leave it for another reviewer.
  • Accuracy is more important than speed. Take your time to patrol each page. Use the message feature to communicate with article creators and offer advice as much as possible.

The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you also may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 12:07, 12 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Celebstrendnow.com as a source

edit

Hi Bradford. I noticed that you recently used celebstrendnow.com as a source for information in a biography article, Sebastián Silva (entertainer). I am unable to find any evidence or discussion indicating that celebstrendnow.com meets reliable sourcing criteria for the inclusion of personal information in such articles. If you disagree, let's discuss it. Thanks.--Ronz (talk) 17:42, 13 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Carmelo Alvarado.jpeg

edit

Thank you for uploading File:Carmelo Alvarado.jpeg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 19:46, 27 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

On 13 October 2019, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Bolívar (TV series), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the Colombian television series Bolívar used 6,000 extras? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Bolívar (TV series). You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Bolívar (TV series)), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Ringo TV series poster

edit

What was with the original file? Why upload a new poster if there is nothing wrong the previous one. —Telenovelafan215 (talk) 05:29, 26 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Telenovelafan215: And what is the problem with which I have uploaded? That poster is also original. It is also the one that comes out here and is more representative, since it refers to the main character. José Ron appears in the other, but with another actor. I also do not see the problem of using another poster, which is also original of the series.--—  Bradford  (Talk) 05:40, 26 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Bradford: The problem is that there was nothing wrong with the file I uploaded. The original file was also "representative" as part of the main story was Ringo fighting for the custody of his son (who is seen on the original file). —Telenovelafan215 (talk) 05:49, 26 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Telenovelafan215: As you do not want to accept a simple change, it is better to use the logo of the series, and end of the problem.--—  Bradford  (Talk) 05:51, 26 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Bradford: Televisa Internacional uses a poster similar to the one I had uploaded. The original file should be used.—Telenovelafan215 (talk) 05:54, 26 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Telenovelafan215: Since you have a great conflict, the same thing that happened in El corazón nunca se equivoca is repeated. The other poster is also original and you simply do not want to accept a change. Therefore, so that there are no preferences on either side, I will place the logo of the series. In addition, Televisa Internacional is not the one who distributes or creates the posters of each series. They simply place the poster that created the production company of the series.--—  Bradford  (Talk) 06:43, 26 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Cambio de nombre

edit

Hola, Bradford.

Saludos, -jem- (talk) 11:13, 29 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

New Page Review newsletter November 2019

edit

Hello Bradford,

This newsletter comes a little earlier than usual because the backlog is rising again and the holidays are coming very soon.

Getting the queue to 0

There are now 803 holders of the New Page Reviewer flag! Most of you requested the user right to be able to do something about the huge backlog but it's still roughly less than 10% doing 90% of the work. Now it's time for action.
Exactly one year ago there were 'only' 3,650 unreviewed articles, now we will soon be approaching 7,000 despite the growing number of requests for the NPR user right. If each reviewer soon does only 2 reviews a day over five days, the backlog will be down to zero and the daily input can then be processed by every reviewer doing only 1 review every 2 days - that's only a few minutes work on the bus on the way to the office or to class! Let's get this over and done with in time to relax for the holidays.
Want to join? Consider adding the NPP Pledge userbox.
Our next newsletter will announce the winners of some really cool awards.

Coordinator

Admin Barkeep49 has been officially invested as NPP/NPR coordinator by a unanimous consensus of the community. This is a complex role and he will need all the help he can get from other experienced reviewers.

This month's refresher course

Paid editing is still causing headaches for even our most experienced reviewers: This official Wikipedia article will be an eye-opener to anyone who joined Wikipedia or obtained the NPR right since 2015. See The Hallmarks to know exactly what to look for and take time to examine all the sources.

Tools
  • It is now possible to select new pages by date range. This was requested by reviewers who want to patrol from the middle of the list.
  • It is now also possible for accredited reviewers to put any article back into the New Pages Feed for re-review. The link is under 'Tools' in the side bar.
Reviewer Feedback

Would you like feedback on your reviews? Are you an experienced reviewer who can give feedback to other reviewers? If so there are two new feedback pilot programs. New Reviewer mentorship will match newer reviewers with an experienced reviewer with a new reviewer. The other program will be an occasional peer review cohort for moderate or experienced reviewers to give feedback to each other. The first cohort will launch November 13.

Second set of eyes
  • Not only are New Page Reviewers the guardians of quality of new articles, they are also in a position to ensure that pages are being correctly tagged for deletion and maintenance and that new authors are not being bitten. This is an important feature of your work, especially while some routine tagging for deletion can still be carried out by non NPR holders and inexperienced users. Read about it at the Monitoring the system section in the tutorial. If you come across such editors doing good work, don't hesitate to encourage them to apply for NPR.
  • Do be sure to have our talk page on your watchlist. There are often items that require reviewers' special attention, such as to watch out for pages by known socks or disruptive editors, technical issues and new developments, and of course to provide advice for other reviewers.
Arbitration Committee

The annual ArbCom election will be coming up soon. All eligible users will be invited to vote. While not directly concerned with NPR, Arbcom cases often lead back to notability and deletion issues and/or actions by holders of advanced user rights.

Community Wish list

There is to be no wish list for WMF encyclopedias this year. We thank Community Tech for their hard work addressing our long list of requirements which somewhat overwhelmed them last year, and we look forward to a successful completion.

Don't do again!

edit

Hello Bradford, why you delete my edit ? For example, you delete Arturo Peniche page information for example birth information about his son, his son is born 1986 and you write 1987 without source. The most recognized source for actors and there write his son Brandon Peniche is born 1986 is IMDB here you have link of that source https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1312149/ And of course you also delete David Chocarro what I make, so if you do again same thing I have to report to Wikipedia beacuse you also don't have a sources for example on Choccaro page. Now I report you beacuse you delete my all edit without putting sources. So mate you reported and could be blocked from Wikipedia like you blocked from Spanish wikipedia you probably be blocked and from English. Don't do again if you don't have reason for it. UNDERSTAND ?

explain to me why you don't let me use that image of Carmen Villalobos in her article, if it's the only one here on Wikimedia, who cares about the quality of the image, the important thing is to illustrate the profile of the person in your article, If there is no other image available, then what should I do? also if you are going to remove that image, why don't you remove the others that I have added to the recent articles of Margarita Ortega and Ángela Aguilar, I would also say that they have very poor quality, but they are the only ones that I managed to get, so if you think That image is deleted, then you are going to ask to delete the other two that I have uploaded to Commons? --The Salvator (talk) 00:37, 30 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Reviewer of the Year

This year's Reviewer of the Year is Rosguill. Having gotten the reviewer PERM in August 2018, they have been a regular reviewer of articles and redirects, been an active participant in the NPP community, and has been the driving force for the emerging NPP Source Guide that will help reviewers better evaluate sourcing and notability in many countries for which it has historically been difficult.

Special commendation again goes to Onel5969 who ends the year as one of our most prolific reviewers for the second consecutive year. Thanks also to Boleyn and JTtheOG who have been in the top 5 for the last two years as well.

Several newer editors have done a lot of work with CAPTAIN MEDUSA and DannyS712 (who has also written bots which have patrolled thousands of redirects) being new reviewers since this time last year.

Thanks to them and to everyone reading this who has participated in New Page Patrol this year.

Redirect autopatrol

A recent Request for Comment on creating a new redirect autopatrol pseduo-permission was closed early. New Page Reviewers are now able to nominate editors who have an established track record creating uncontroversial redirects. At the individual discretion of any administrator or after 24 hours and a consensus of at least 3 New Page Reviewers an editor may be added to a list of users whose redirects will be patrolled automatically by DannyS712 bot III.

Source Guide Discussion

Set to launch early in the new year is our first New Page Patrol Source Guide discussion. These discussions are designed to solicit input on sources in places and topic areas that might otherwise be harder for reviewers to evaluate. The hope is that this will allow us to improve the accuracy of our patrols for articles using these sources (and/or give us places to perform a WP:BEFORE prior to nominating for deletion). Please watch the New Page Patrol talk page for more information.

This month's refresher course

While New Page Reviewers are an experienced set of editors, we all benefit from an occasional review. This month consider refreshing yourself on Wikipedia:Notability (geographic features). Also consider how we can take the time for quality in this area. For instance, sources to verify human settlements, which are presumed notable, can often be found in seconds. This lets us avoid the (ugly) 'Needs more refs' tag.

Guey, you don't have to come to an agreement with me, you have to do the right thing and in the process not waste someones's time when having no arguments. There's no need to explain what is obvious, the reference is clearly saying about the start of filming of the series and main crew, producers and directors, are listed on one of the images, come on... Template

edit

Hello Bradford, I agree with you that there should still be a template to list the Nickelodeon telenovelas because Nick actually made them. However, just about every other show on the "Nickelodeon co-productions" template outside of the Latin American column was not made by Nick at all. They were all just random acquisitions without any relation/involvement from Nick, with the exception of one in the European column (Club 57). I was wondering if giving you this info would help us reach a solution as to what to do with the "Co-productions" template. A possible solution, I think, would be to merge/redirect it to one listing all of the Nick telenovelas, since Nick actually made them. Any further comments on the templates-for-discussion are appreciated! Capcapandgengen (talk) 06:33, 31 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Contextual Significance

edit

Thought I would say hi. Earlier this evening I had two images questioned for their contextual significance after it seemed the explanation in the photos and description made it plainly evident that there was significant contextual significance :-) It was then noticed that the same questions on contextual significance were placed on many pictures in a short time span with the same reason all of which were contextually significant. Your two pictures were of that group. I decided I should post an explanation on several of the pages as a way of helping out my fellow Wikipedians. Cool border on your page. Boston1775 (talk) 09:48, 11 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Boston1775: Thanks for helping. According to me, the image is contextually justified, but due to what happened it seems that it does not. We must wait to see what an administrator decides.BRADFORD talk 10:35, 11 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Bradford: Vale Bradford, borrón y cuenta nueva.

--Luis1944MX (talk) 21:47, 22 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

New Page Reviewer newsletter February 2020

edit

Hello Bradford,

Source Guide Discussion

The first NPP source guide discussion is now underway. It covers a wide range of sources in Ghana with the goal of providing more guidance to reviewers about sources they might see when reviewing pages. Hopefully, new page reviewers will join others interested in reliable sources and those with expertise in these sources to make the discussion a success.

Redirects

New to NPP? Looking to try something a little different? Consider patrolling some redirects. Redirects are relatively easy to review, can be found easily through the New Pages Feed. You can find more information about how to patrol redirects at WP:RPATROL.

Discussions and Resources
Refresher

Geographic regions, areas and places generally do not need general notability guideline type sourcing. When evaluating whether an article meets this notability guideline please also consider whether it might actually be a form of WP:SPAM for a development project (e.g. PR for a large luxury residential development) and not actually covered by the guideline.

--Luis1944MX (talk) 12:17, 17 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

New page reviewer granted

edit

Hi Bradford. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers" user group. Please check back at WP:PERM in case your user right is time limited or probationary. This user group allows you to review new pages through the Curation system and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or nominate them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encyclopedia.

In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. signed, Rosguill talk 21:31, 18 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I'm Rosguill. I wanted to let you know that I saw the page you reviewed, Vencer el desamor, and have marked it as unpatrolled. If you have any questions, please ask them on my talk page. Thank you.

You're generally doing good work, but be advised that anticipatory coverage of TV shows and movies is generally WP:ROUTINE and does not contribute to establishing notability. This is both because such coverage is often essentially just a press release (and thus not independent), and because shows and films can end up cancelled despite having received pre-release press (which is especially true right now that much of the world is shut down due to the covid19 pandemic).

Hi Bradford and @Jéské Couriano:. What's going on with this image please? I find the edit summaries in the page history extremely unhelpful. Vandalism? Spambot or compromised account? I must be missing something. Thanks. -- zzuuzz (talk) 20:38, 19 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Zzuuzz: Hi. An administrator had reversed the edit of the person who added the image and blocked the IP address. But suddenly the user started to reverse. Given these events the IP began to evade its block, and as far as I understand when users evade its blocks, their edits should not be taken into account. Regarding the report I made, I was wrong, sorry. . Bradford  Talk  21:09, 19 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
Yes it seems clear that the IP user is probably the same user who uploaded the image, and they are blocked for whatever reason. The IP I blocked was also being fairly abusive. However the image seems appropriate, the licence seems to check out, and using the image may actually help reduce further disruption while improving the article. I'm all about that. I'll put the image back at some point if that's all there is to it. And yes, accurate and meaningful summaries are so helpful. Thanks. -- zzuuzz (talk) 21:26, 19 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

I have reverted your file change on Sueña conmigo per WP:BRD since you have not explained why it was changed. At this point, you need to either gain a consensus at the article's talk page or take the original file to WP:FFD. If you continue to revert without a consensus, you will be edit warring and you could be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Aspects (talk) 05:53, 29 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Aspects: I also don't see a clear reason for your opposition. It just popped up and reversed my edit on a whim. With over 10,000 pages in the queue, the highest it's been since ACPERM, your help could really make a difference.

Episode list

edit

Every episode list requires topics related to the series like directors, staff members, dvds or themes like List of Psycho-Pass episodes or List of Puella Magi Madoka Magica episodes. The thing with that Boruto's is that since we haven't divided them into section due to lack of sources specifying a change, we had no choice but to reorganize the prose into a table so that it would be easier to follow.Tintor2 (talk) 01:21, 20 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Tintor2: But this is not what it says MOS:TVEPISODELIST. So I ask, since when did you start doing this?— Bradford💬 01:27, 20 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
Since the beginning. The table was created when the theme songs started increased so much that following it in prose it was confusing to read. We follow the anime guidelines too. There are also other big examples like this list or this. More FAs also have to provide the themes to cover every element of the series. Removing so much notable content that happens to be properly sourced it's pretty much blanking. Bear in mind that before making another revert.Tintor2 (talk) 01:34, 20 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
From what I see, that will be your only answer...— Bradford💬 01:49, 20 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

New Page Patrol December Newsletter

Hello Bradford,

A chart of the 2020 New Page Patrol Queue

Year in review

It has been a productive year for New Page Patrol as we've roughly cut the size of the New Page Patrol queue in half this year. We have been fortunate to have a lot of great work done by Rosguill who was the reviewer of the most pages and redirects this past year. Thanks and credit go to JTtheOG and Onel5969 who join Rosguill in repeating in the top 10 from last year. Thanks to John B123, Hughesdarren, and Mccapra who all got the NPR permission this year and joined the top 10. Also new to the top ten is DannyS712 bot III, programmed by DannyS712 which has helped to dramatically reduce the number of redirects that have needed human patrolling by patrolling certain types of redirects (e.g. for differences in accents) and by also patrolling editors who are on on the redirect whitelist.

Reviewer of the Year

John B123 has been named reviewer of the year for 2020. John has held the permission for just over 6 months and in that time has helped cut into the queue by reviewing more than 18,000 articles. His talk page shows his efforts to communicate with users, upholding NPP's goal of nurturing new users and quality over quantity.

NPP Technical Achievement Award

As a special recognition and thank you DannyS712 has been awarded the first NPP Technical Achievement Award. His work programming the bot has helped us patrol redirects tremendously - more than 60,000 redirects this past year. This has been a large contribution to New Page Patrol and definitely is worthy of recognition.

Your recent editing history at The Pandemic Special shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
