Well the funny thing is that people are still buying the DVDs, even though as you pointed out they're mostly the same thing with different packaging. I guess you'll have to wait another couple years for the widescreen remaster, at least until they've milked the extended editions for everything they've got. The Deal

Yes the main cast is spoke of but there are several important historical characters not listed so it is good to show the cast and leave the casting as well to tell how they came to be cast. If you actually read the casting section you will see that they only mention 3 actors who are in the movie. I happen to own this film on DVD and it says on the case runtime of 84 minutes.

Yes I am in America which might explain te difference in region and time. So I won't argue that if you feel it should remain at 76 minutes. But the cast is important for people who want to know what historical figures were involved in the agreement between Brown and Blair and were present at these important political changes in the UK.

What is your deal. I even tried to make it a seperate category to please you which I don't even have to do. So the actors names are briefly mentioned as being in the film it still does not say who the historical characters are that they portrayed. You got a problem man take a chill pill and quit acting like you own the page. It is relevant info that people who are into the history would like to know without having to investigate to find out. Wallander: Series 2

Thanks for letting me know about the third director. As you say, he Andy Wilson seems to play in a different division when compared to the other directors. I saw Marple: They Do It with Mirrors on TV here in the US, barely 10 days ago. Not bad for being Ms. Marple. Have you heard anything about any actors for the new series? I read that US actor Danny Glover was filming in nearby Malmö during June, and this (together with the Swedish Wallander films) resulted in a shortage in film and production crew for the BBC series. Swedish director Tomas Alfredson, who has had an international success with his "Let The Right one in" will make another adoption of John Le Carre’s cold war novel Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, based on a scrip by Peter Morgan. Thanks for the info about Tom McCall. Speaking of Tinker Tailor..., I read something very interesting on a Swedish newspaper site how Daniel Alfredson wanted to do a big English language project, but REALLY did not like the offers various Hollywood studios offered him. Then Working Title offended him this project. If you have seen Let The Right One In you know Alfredsson has a very interesting visual style. His lesser known Swedish films all have striking cinematography. Alfredsson is supposed to adopt another book by Johan Ajvide Lindqvist (novelist behind Let the Right One In), so I guess Tinker Tailor... comes after that film.VsanoJ (talk) 14:43, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

I just made a bunch of uppdates. Two about scenes that was shot this week. (If you go to the source link of the Expressen story you see a quite funny picture of Kenneth Branagh streching before the scene). There were also some interesting numbers about Ystad, tourism and the BBC series. If you think any edites are needed, pleaseBold text feel free to do so. I personally think I could not get the part about the old car repair shop to "flow". I read between the lines and from what I could get I think they were trying to say that Mankell had "used" this location in the book and with it now being empty (and owned by an artist couple trying to figure out what the heck to do with this empty building) the film team thought it was logical to film there. Having the films that were released theatrically sounds like a good idea!! I think it could be hard to find source and referense texts for the other Mankell's Wallander films. From what I can read on the web, it seems they did quite well in the UK for a program on BBC 4, is that so?

One interesting thing about the SVT Wallander films. Swedish actor Alexander Skarsgård who is becomming quite poppular here in the US thanks to cult HBO show True Blood portrays the young Kurt Wallander in the Pyramid. VsanoJ (talk) 17:38, 14 September 2009 (UTC)

I wonder if he would be a replacement for Blomman (or Blomanski, I think his real name was, the policeman of Polish decent). The way I saw it was that Mankell icluded "Blomman" to have an officer who had a different background then the other officers. Maybe they changed to an officer of south-asian origin to make this more obvious? It is an interestig choice, as south-asians isn't a typical immigration group in Sweden. Google Translate works VERY well over all, I have to say. However, and I say this while being a bit reluctant, I think there is an improvement that can be made in regars to Daniel Ahlqvist comments. I really do not want to step on your toes. I read it as he is saying that future Wallaner films from BBC can be based on new story synopses in the same manner as the Swedish Yellow Bird films. Since Mankell seems to be very interested in TV right now, I do not doubt that he would be more then willing to write a new story synopsis or maybe even a brand new screen play. As you probably have seen, I added some stuff today and last week about some Swedish actors who has featured in both BBC's Wallander and the two different Swedish langiage series. I personally think this is quite neat/interesting/funny, but how interesting is this to the rest of the world? I have not seen the Wallander series 2 so I do not know how big roles they have, I am assuming rather small ones though. Fredrik Gunnarsson has an important role in the Mankell's Wallander series of films so that he is featured in Sweies 2 is very interesting. Well known Swedish actor and former theatre director Roland Hedlund stared as Gustaf Torstensson in Yhe Man Who Similed that was broadcast in the UK yesterday. He lives in northern Sweden so I am really qurious to see how much he was featured. Most Swedish actors used in the BBC films has been unknown local Skane actors. That does not sound good. How are the ratings? I wonder if the short pre-production stage affected the quality? I know Yellow Bird were set on ONLY focusing on the Swedish language films this summer. Richard Cottan must have written the scripts a whole lot faster this time around. I wonder if he was still writing The Fifth Woman while they were filming The Faceless Killers? I'd say it's best to wait, sometimes (though rarely) additional clarification is needed. Ooh, that's going to be a tough one, but it really depends on which show you are trying to find ratings for. To find some of the latest ratings, this year and last, you could use [1]. It's a blog, but it's still reliable for ratings. If you didn't already know, Australia uses the [2] OzTAM ratings system, but really I don't know how to access archives from the site. The publication "Crikey" also publishes them on a daily basis. If you like, I can ask a colleague who works in the industry - it may well be we can get a figure from a private source which becomes a search term for public sources which we can then cite. No, I didn't take offense. I thought "skittlepedia" was actually funny. lol Well I have did quite a few tables with that same color format (however, I will go back and change them all to the correct format soon -- I should have checked in on that page for policy). I have a question that's not covered here -- should Film/Television be put within the same code (like Tobin Bell, or like Sarah Chalke has it? Or does it matter? Liberals and Liberal Democrats

Re this edit, the book is about history and so it contains the histories of both the Liberal Party (from 1688) and the Liberal Democrats. Because the Liberal Party existed for longer and had a more prominent position, its entry is considerably longer than that of the Liberal Democrats. This is a bit rich: I opened a discussion on this, and your response was to barge ahead and make changes.
Then, when they were reverted by someone, you undo them saying discussion/consensus is unnecessary, and tell the other guy to lay off edit warring.
I opened the discussion because I do think consensus is necessary; but I’ve put things back because things should be done decently, and in order. Also, I’m not particularly impressed with your reasoning; I've replied there. Swanny18 (talk) 19:09, 16 January 2010 (UTC)

Bradley0110, please await some form of consensus before splitting the articles again, since our readers aren't exactly helped by article contents going back and forth between different article names once or twice every day. I have no strong opinions on which choice you land in, but edit warring is not constructive. As to this edit summary, a split is obviously controversial if it is contested, and an opened or on-going discussion is a clear indication that things may need to be discussed. Thank you. Pilot (Cold Feet)

I don't think it's me that's confused, Bradley0110. I'm not the only one who thinks that Pilot (Cold Feet) or Pilot (The Grimleys) makes about as much sense as Film (Starsky & Hutch). To my way of thinking the type should be reserved for the disambiguation of articles that a reasonable person might genuinely expect to find if they were to look up Pilot. Pilot (band), for instance. The fact that there's a list of television pilots named "Pilot" strongly suggests that not all televsion pilots are named "Pilot".
