Deletion is a difficult issue. You'd be amazed at the amount of time I waste on deleting "articles" such as: "John Smith is an amazing guy and I love him" or "Ethel Evans is stupid and nobody likes her". In the case of real people, the main thing is to provide a clear explanation of why the person is notable and references to show that this is the case. The fact that Judith Wallerstein carried out a lot of research isn't in itself notable. If her research has subsequently been much used, then you should say so in the article and explain its significance. I admit, though, that the warning bells rang as a result of your comment saying that you were creating a rough article "in the hope of attracting contributors" (or words to that effect). I inferred from this - presumably I was mistaken - that you were in some way involved with her research and wanted to get other people involved in it.
