Speedy deletion nomination of Baltic Avenue

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Baltic Avenue requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. "Baltic Avenue" restored to your user space

edit

I have "userfied" the article - restored it to a sub-page in your user space where you can work on it. It is at User:Brianlichty/Baltic Avenue.

  • Read WP:Your first article, and note the need for references. Wikipedia's WP:Verifiability policy says that: "any material challenged or likely to be challenged must be attributed to a reliable, published source."
  • You need independent references to establish WP:Notability. See WP:BAND for the standard for bands.
  • Don't include opinions or promotional phrases like "Acknowledged for their 3/4 rhythms, intellectual lyrics and driving guitars" unless you have a source that says so.
  • There is a link in the box at the top of the article to some more useful advice, and another to let you submit the article when it is ready. Other users will review it, and either accept it or give you more advice.

Do you have a conflict of interest with Millennial Media?

edit

I am writing regarding your edits to the articles for Millennial Media and Paul Palmieri (CEO). Your edits do not represent a balanced view of their subject. More alarmingly, you say in the notes for the picture of Paul Palmieri that you took the photograph while at the Millennial Media headquarters. Please disclose your relationship with Millennial Media. Andrew327 11:35, 17 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image File:Millennial Media Logo.png

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Millennial Media Logo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:27, 25 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Please refrain from adding, removing or changing genres, as you did to Van Halen, without providing a source or establishing a consensus on the article's talk page first. Genre changes to suit your own point of view are considered disruptive. Thank you. HorrorLover555 (talk) 16:50, 12 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

edit

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Gene Simmons. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. - FlightTime (open channel) 23:43, 17 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm FlightTime. Please refrain from changing genres, as you did to Van Halen even if you provide a/some source(s), you'll still need to start a discussion on the article talk page to allow editors who regular watch that page a chance to discuss the reliability of the source(s) you provided. One reason is, genre sources can easily be considered an opinion and not fact. Genre's are a touchy subject here on Wikipedia and without discussion/consensus, regardless of your source(s), your addition or removal will most likely be reverted. Your edit has been reverted and archived in the page history for now.

Unsourced genre changes to suit your own point of view are considered disruptive.

Thank you. - FlightTime (open channel) 23:54, 17 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
