Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Chennai, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Cosmopolitan. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:10, 9 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm Vin09. Your recent edit to the page List of most populous cities in India appears to have added incorrect information, so I have removed it for now. If you believe the information was correct, please cite a reliable source or discuss your change on the article's talk page. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Vin09 (talk) 07:23, 16 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Please do not introduce incorrect information into articles, as you did to List of most populous cities in India. Your edits appear to be vandalism and have been reverted. If you believe the information you added was correct, please cite references or sources or discuss the changes on the article's talk page before making them again. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. Vin09 (talk) 11:49, 17 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Do not change

edit

Do not change stats unless there is an official reference for population statistics.--Vin09 (talk) 11:54, 17 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Check articles

edit

Check some of the featured articles and add based on them. No need of Cosmopolitan or Global. Metropolis is the only thing needs to be added like all other metro cities.--Vin09 (talk) 12:30, 17 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize pages by deliberately introducing incorrect information, as you did at Chennai, you may be blocked from editing. Vin09 (talk) 16:53, 17 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Please do not change the settlement type from Metropolis to Megacity or anything else, unless there is clear consensus on the talk page. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 16:56, 17 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you make personal attacks on other people. Comment on content, not on fellow editors. Vin09 (talk) 17:03, 17 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, but a recent edit that you made to User talk:Rsrikanth05 has been reverted or removed because it was a misuse of a warning or blocking template. Please use the user warnings sandbox for any tests you may want to do, or take a look at our introduction page to learn more about contributing to the encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. -- Rsrikanth05 (talk) 17:04, 17 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Mis warns

edit

how can you warn User:Rsrikanth05, who have told you a nice statement on positive editing.--Vin09 (talk) 17:05, 17 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

@Vin09:, They have been pasting UV3 warnings on talk pages of everyone and adding their opinion at the fag end of it. @Brindavijay03 Please read the WP:Talk page guidelines. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 17:07, 17 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

I've only opposed not to add cosmopolitan and Global city tags. Megacity is a correct or Metropolis is simple one. If you want to add Megacity, yes add them but remember there are only 3 megacities in India. They are New Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata as per THIS REFERENCE. Don't add your own WP:OR and also don't abuse other editors with warns.--Vin09 (talk) 17:11, 17 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

My only reason for reversion was that it needed consensus on the talk page. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 17:16, 17 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours for persistent disruptive editing. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.   Philg88 talk 11:35, 18 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Chennai

edit

Your addition on Megacity has been removed. Chennai is not among population >= 1 billion. Check THIS REFERENCE.--Vin09 (talk) 12:13, 19 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Reference

edit

If it is really true, then please provide reference that it is a Megacity. I'm not against your edits.--Vin09 (talk) 12:27, 19 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Check THIS REFERENCE, which says by 2030, it is projected to become a Megacity. Hence, at present it is not a Megacity.--Vin09 (talk) 12:33, 19 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Last Warning

edit

Your latest edits to Megacity are disruptive to say the least. You need to stop interpreting what Wikipedia is according to your own views and play by the rules. If you fail to do so, a further block will follow and it will be significantly longer than the last. Thanks for listening.  Philg88 talk 15:00, 19 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Please stop continuing to remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Poovizhi Vasalile (TV series), without resolving the problem that the template refers to. This may be considered disruptive editing. Further edits of this type may result in your account being blocked from editing. Dl2000 (talk) 14:56, 22 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:Chennai city at day.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Chennai city at day.jpg, which you've attributed to location exists, and a free image could be created. Fails WP:NFCC #1. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to [email protected], stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to [email protected].

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Diannaa (talk) 13:55, 27 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

edit

In 2017 - 2018, the Wikimedia Foundation and Google working in close coordination with the Centre for Internet and Society (CIS), Wikimedia India chapter (WMIN) and user groups will pilot a program encouraging Wikipedia communities to create locally relevant and high-quality content in Indian languages. This program (Code name: Project Tiger) will:

(b) Sponsor a language-based contest that aims to address existing Wikipedia content gaps.

The objective of the program is to provide laptops and internet stipends for existing editors who need support to contribute more actively. 50 basic model Acer Chromebooks and Internet stipends for 100 contributors are available for distribution. Provided resources are the sole property of the beneficiaries and should be used for the betterment of the movement.

If you're an active Wikimedian, and interested to receive support from this project, please apply. It will take around 10 minutes of your time, and will ask descriptive questions about your contribution to Indic Wikimedia projects.
