Disambiguation link notification
editHi. When you recently edited Bruno Braquehais, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Dieppe (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Braquehais
editHello, I would say:
"However, Braquehais contributed to the birth of photojournalism through his original productions, which consisted of almost 140 pictures of the Commune".
Actually I guess it says he took 140 "plates", since it also says they couldn't yet be directly published as photos.
Hope that helps! Adam Bishop (talk) 18:51, 16 February 2012 (UTC)
- Awesome, thanks. I went with "plates". Bms4880 (talk) 19:53, 16 February 2012 (UTC)

Wm. Bell
editJust so you know... I've submitted a DYK nom for Bell alone, without his son-in-law. By the time your note alerted me to the latter, the article was already a bit too old for a new DYK nom. (DYK is getting a healthy number of nominations these days, so deadlines are taken more seriously than they are when business is slow.) Anyway, Bell's photo of the Army officer with the gunshot wound looks to me to be a good candidate for an image slot. --Orlady (talk) 03:58, 7 April 2012 (UTC)

ET
editGlad to see that you are keeping up with the ET vandalism. It's all the work of one user. Rather than protect the article, the best way to prevent that kind of thing is to block the user. The IP user hadn't had any warnings in almost 3 weeks, so I would be on shaky ground if I blocked right now (users are supposed to be warned before being blocked). Instead, I issued an "only warning", which will provide a solid basis for blocking if the behavior continues. --Orlady (talk) 22:32, 27 May 2012 (UTC)

Murfreesboro mosque photos (from email conversation)
editHi, I've used some of your images in a new article about the Murfreesboro mosque - see Islamic_Center_of_Murfreesboro. Do you have any other images relating to that controversy which might be useful for this article? - Prioryman
- I just have a few protest and crowd photographs from that one day (the courthouse was packed, and I couldn't even get into the lobby). Looking through my file, one of the images contains a shot of Kevin Fisher, if you would like me to crop and upload it. I uploaded a shot of Lou Ann Zelenik ([2]) earlier this month, but it was at a political rally unrelated to the mosque controversy.
- You might want to contact User:Huntster, who lives in Murfreesboro, and can probably obtain a photograph of the new mosque. Bms4880 (talk) 20:29, 14 August 2012 (UTC)
- I can probably use the pic of Zelenik, as she attended the hearings to stop the mosque. I've asked Huntster and he's said he'll try to get a photo of the mosque itself. - Prioryman
Tennessee, ((USA)) ??
editRegarding your quote current Wikipedia policy favors phasing out the "USA" following the name of the state, have you any sources, and/or arguments? It seems to me typically US-centric to deem this information unneeded, and I must admit to revolting to it. Thank you for discussing decently, though! Regards, Jan olieslagers (talk) 20:47, 31 August 2012 (UTC)
- Bollocks. There is no such policy. An international encyclopaedia needs the county to be stated. No exceptions. The US is not the default in Wikipedia. 86.133.210.76 (talk) 23:14, 31 August 2012 (UTC)
- Hm. I prefer to discuss in politeness, but even so am glad to see I am not alone with my opinion. Some more thoughts added on my own talk page. Jan olieslagers (talk) 05:09, 1 September 2012 (UTC)
- As I explained on Jan's page, I have used "United States" or "USA" in every article I have created, but recently, other editors have been removing this. The only policies I could find addressing this issue are WP:NOTUSA and WP:USPLACE. The latter has the statement, "A United States city's article should never be titled "city, country" (e.g., "Detroit, United States") or "city, state, country" (e.g., "Kansas City, Missouri, USA"); that is contrary to general American usage," This appears, however, to refer only to the title. Bms4880 (talk) 20:22, 1 September 2012 (UTC)

RE: Rogero
editI've noticed you've done some EXTENSIVE editing to the Madeline Rogero page, so I'd like to posit to you the possibility that you might have some ownership issue with it. It's simply not a notable topic. How do you feel Rogero meets WP:N guidelines?
I'm nominating the Daniel Brown "article" for deletion as well. Just so you know. I mean, that's even less notable. That guy wasn't even elected. Where's the notability in either instance? I'm willing to listen, but do make sure you leave any ownership issues at the door, all right? I don't like contentious discussions. :-) Sidatio (talk) 17:24, 25 October 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for that list!
