Alternatives / The main alternative
editPutting myself in the place (as best I can, as a pedagogue) of a layman seeking to find out about phonics, an action not entirely unlikely, given the high profile of the phonics discussion in countries that are promoting it as education policy, a question that would (I think) be running through my mind as I read this would be Yes, but what are the alternatives...?
I do realise that there are allusions to alternatives mainly as specific contrasts to minutiae here and there in the piece, but it would be nice to have a section, even if brief, outlining alternative methods to phonics in the teaching of English; where they are to be encountered; relative outcomes; etc. Brockle (talk) 15:21, 16 February 2013 (UTC)
