Hi Bruce. This change of yours is not good. You added the names of Leo Bill and Anna Hope to an existing sentence ("She trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art with fellow students…") but neither Hope nor Bill is mentioned in the two sources supporting the sentence. Wikipedia content needs to be verifiable. Kind regards, Robby.is.on (talk) 17:32, 9 December 2020 (UTC)
- Hi Robby, thanks for pointing out.
- Just curious, but how do you pick up on these changes & then go on to check out the edits? I noticed you aren't a soap/TV/British actress follower, so was wondering how it works. new to wiki, as you can see so learning about these things (:
- Hi Bruce, you're welcome. Well done adding the new reference to the article, it indeed verifies the fellow students. :-) I've moved the references around a little to more clearly indicate which of the sources supports which name.
- You're right, I don't usually edit in this area. One of the areas I have been working on is removing deprecated sources such as the Daily Mail and the Epoch Times and so I came across the Katherine Kelly article when you added the Daily Mail reference. I then added the article to my watchlist to make sure the Daily Mail reference doesn't get added again. Robby.is.on (talk) 19:53, 10 December 2020 (UTC)
Managing a conflict of interest
editHello, BruceShawcross. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Dolly Alderton, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. You added unsourced information about her birthname being Hannah, and then used edit summaries "local updates for Hannah", "update for H" etc: these suggest that you are editing at her request. Please read and note the Conflict of Interest guidelines and Paid Editing rules listed above. Thanks. PamD 17:43, 12 May 2021 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for February 21
editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Roland Mouret, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page James Webster. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 05:59, 21 February 2022 (UTC)
