Speedy deletion nomination of Stldesktop.com

A tag has been placed on Stldesktop.com requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Stldesktop.com

I have read your comments at Talk:Stldesktop.com and User talk:Anthony.bradbury concerning the deletion of Stldesktop.com. In both of these comments you insist that Stldesktop.com exsits. For example, at User talk:Anthony.bradbury you say "It is real, it exists, it is exactly what was described on the page." Nobody has denied that it exists, but existing is not sufficient to justify a Wikipedia article. You may like to look at Wikipedia:Existence ≠ Notability. You also insist that the speedy deletion criterion A7 does not apply, as there is a claim of significance. you say "where is the claim of significance in the article? It's about the Greater St Louis area !!!" I could quite easily write a few sentences about the United States and post it to my facebook page. This would not make my facebook page notable or significant, although the United States certainly are very notable and significant. A claim of significance has to be about the web site which is the subject of the Wikipedia article: a claim of significance for the topic of that web site is about is irrelevant. Finally, please comment on contributions, not on contributors. Your message at User talk:Anthony.bradbury was certainly not civil, and was pretty close to being a personal attack. Suggesting that any editor or administrator who does something you do not like is a "nazi" is not at all constructive, no matter what the nationality of the person concerned. JamesBWatson saying "A claim of significance has to be about the web site which is the subject of the Wikipedia article" is evidence that he never even visited the site. It hosts the best municipal directory for the St. Louis area that there is. It is VERY significant. The fact that the two involved in the page's quick deletion come here and say "Buddy, buddy" makes me sick and should send shutters down the spines of anyone thinking of using Wikipedia. Also, at no point did I call anyone "nazi". I implied that they were acting as a human "Bot" and getting their kicks by deleting qualifying input to Wikipedia. Look people, if you have no real lives to attend to, are stuck bedridden somewhere and doing these kinds of things to new people at Wikipedia makes you feel "Big" and powerful or important in some oddball way then hey... I got news for you... that's weird. The site is very significant and it will only become more and more significant as time passes. So go on and pat each other on the back, try your best to wish it away and make all the false claims about the site having no significance. In the end, as evidenced on two of your talk pages, your major contributions here will be exactly what they are... a talk page FULL of upset people saying "Why'd you delete my page?". The proof is already there. Just count the number of people you guys have already offended. It's kind of a mystery why any of you are still here. My next trip to SF I think I'll be dropping into the Wikipedia offices personally and bringing at least three names with me. I do not where you derive you ideas from as to how wikipedia and its admins functions, but they are a long way from being correct. As to the "nazi" comment, you said that you would be the first to call me a nazi if I were not German. I am not German. So? --Anthony.bradbury^"talk" 22:25, 30 July 2010 (UTC)

I derive my ideas from how the planet earth functions and the people here who call it home behave toward each other. As to the "nazi" comment, you are correct... I said "I would" call you one. However, JamesBWatson said that I suggested someone was which is not correct. So, if you are not German and you begin to act in a Bot-like fashion sure, for you, I will call you a Nazi if you would like because you would be less prone to take the term literal and more able to understand the current American street meaning of it as it applied to your actions. Your interpretation of the motivation of the editors concerned is interesting, but I think mistaken. If you have not already done so you may like to read the notability guidelines to see what is required for a subject to have an article about it. If you would like any help with understanding the guidelines or how they are applied you are welcome to ask me civilly on my talk page. If you do so I will try to give you the help you want. If you disagree with the current guidelines you can engage in discussion with a view to having them changed. However, as long as the guidelines are what they are, I will regard my job as an administrator as being to apply those guidelines, even when individual editors don't like it. Thank you for your civility. When I review the notability guidelines somehow I am taken by the startling realization that probably 1/2 of all Wikipedia entries fail to fulfill at least some part of it's criteria. In fact, Wikipedia itself narrowly escapes the points in "Self-promotion and indiscriminate publicity" merely by means of it being a non-for-profit. You know, I really don't ever want to be involved in the "past". When I die I do not wish to be waxed and put in a museum of "things that have been". Likewise, my site(s) I feel should have actual lives ... be somewhat current issues. What I have seen, since the very first week that Mr. Wales unleashed this thing, has been more encyclopedic than I would have preferred. Not knocking it, no no, rather I am simply stating my personal view that I could actually not care less if it's bylaws are hypocritical in nature and it's editing has been put into the hands of soup nazi's. I am at the point now where it has become a waste of my time and effort to deal with it personally. Here forward, if anything is included anywhere on/in this site about one of my sites or my person... it will be done by someone who has the patience required to deal with what I see as being purely elitist snobbery. None of this, however, nullifies my plans on visiting the main office sometime probably by the end of this year just so I can ask the question "Do you see wtf is happening to your new people?".
