Sources

Hello, sorry for a late reply. The source on birth date is this one. If Mr. Grinstaff wants to contact the Science History Institute and order them to change his birth date, he certainly can. What he cannot do, is to dictate his policies here. We don't contact our subjects because we don't have to do it. Majority of them have CVs with proper birth date there. We also can navigate through Google and surprisingly Google says the same birth date as the Science History Institute. Unfortunately, according to Wikipedia, Google is far more trusted then other search engines. So, if Mr. Grinstaff is willing to put his CV from BU into here, he may, with the right source. If, not, his birthday will be December 31, 1969.--Biografer (talk) 19:33, 21 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi, thanks for the info and the source. We contacted the Institute, and they will correct the error.

Hello, I'm WikiDan61. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Mark W. Grinstaff seemed less than neutral and has been removed. If you think this was a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. At a glance, the sentence Grinstaff's research is characterized by a continuous pursuit of new frontiers, marked by innovative explorations every 3-5 years resulting in the realization of novel projects. indicates that the purpose here is to promote Grinstaff's credentials rather than report neutrally. Would the following statement be better?
Grinstaff's research involves periodic exploration of new areas, with new projects emerging approximately every 3-5 years. His research focuses on a molecular approach, developing tools and reagents, and studying both natural polymers (such as polynucleotides, polypeptides, and polysaccharides) and synthetic polymers (including polyesters and polycarbonates). This interdisciplinary research program spans polymer chemistry, biology, engineering, and medicine. Bunanocenter (talk) 18:00, 30 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
The example I gave was just one of many. Given that your username is in violation of Wikipedia username rules, your first move will be to request a new username (see WP:Changing username). Then, you'll need to disclose your conflict of interest. Finally, rather then editing the article directly, you'll need to make edit requests at the article's talk page. Please limit your requests to changes of fact that are verifiable by citations to reliable sources. You may request updates to Grinstaff's career. But the proposal you've made starts vaguely. Rather than

you could stick with:

Citations to his various papers to support those claims would be needed. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 19:23, 30 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
yes, understood, already applied for user name change. and Citations are there. Bunanocenter (talk) 20:14, 30 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
