Jonathan Emile
editThanks for your trust. Yes I had made contributions in different periods to the page and I am willing to put more time and effort to improve the article in addition to the necessary research in media sources. But since you mention certain references you already have at hand, how about putting them here as links. No descriptions, just the links. That would sure be a short cut to help me in my efforts. Plus you may edit yourself as well. I don't think its that difficult frankly. I am listening to some of Jonathan's new output like "Try A Likkle More", "Savanna", "Moses", "Solidarité", "Keep On Fighting" and some covers in addition to his older stuff. Now those songs alone are compensation in these tough lockdown days LOL. By the way I am a Montrealer and very fluent in French as well. So no problem if sources are in French. Plus it would be great if we have a newer photo for the infobox if that could be legally acquired for general use. We could keep this and add the newer "look". Meanwhile I'll try some token improvements as we speak. Thanks for your communication again. werldwayd (talk) 20:43, 3 May 2020 (UTC)
- That's super cool! Thank you so much! I've done most of the research! I am also a Montrealer via Toronto. I am in contact with the label so I will try and see about the photo and let them know that you're enjoying the music! Also, there are some french links in here. - I have now made the basic updates needed for the page to the best of my knowledge. I may have missed some stuff, but nobody's perfect.... I will return to the page for nominal small changes, but basically this is it for now. I won't need the links anymore though. It is best to remove them as they are of no further use and should not stay permanently. Of course you or any other Wikipedia colleagues can rephrase, add, maintain or delete any sections deemed incorrect or unnecessary. This is a public page where anybody can edit or propose improvement. We all cooperate here and your request to me was a great pleasure and I have done my share with dedication and full conviction for what I believe is a deserving artist. I also enjoyed so many of his songs actually which accompanied me throughout my edits for hours now. It greatly enhanced my pleasure of editing I must say. Once a new photo of Jonathan Emile that is in the public domain is provided to us or uploaded by the copyright owner (it can be done through https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:File_Upload_Wizard ), it could be added to the page. Of course we will not remove the present photo, just place it little bit lower on the page. The article also lacks chart positions. If the albums have appeared in official Canadian charts or US charts, general or specialized, please provide them with the referring pages and I will gladly add the peak charting positions as well. Again my gratitude to you for referring for help on the page. werldwayd (talk) 03:00, 4 May 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks so much for contributing. I was wondering if I could pass your kind messages along to Jonathan and get him to follow you on social media? Twitter, Instagram? This is really cool that you enjoy the music also! I will also ask about chart positions. I am getting the hang of this a bit more! Thanks again.Busman2000 (talk) 07:27, 5 May 2020 (UTC)
- Now you see what a great project Wikipedia is and how cooperative this venture actually is and there are so many dedicated editors with the genuine interest of propagating better and more comprehensive information. And most of it is done completely free and voluntarily. It's just like magic really. We don't get remunerated a cent but yet devote so much time and effort. Yes I do have the biggest contributions to the Jonathan Emile page (see here [1]) because I've got more motivation (my love of his music), but there are other valuable contributors as you see who are also doing a tremendous job here. So overall you see in a couple of days of work here at Wikipedia, the article has developed to three times more after a slack period of years with virtually no edits. And never forget. It all started with a two-liner addressed to my talk page. That's all it took. I describe our work as a "labour of love". For my personal guidance, I go with a great song with a tremendous meaning that I dedicate to you called "All Thay Matters" composed as a tribute to Lady Diana but it works universally. Here the video link. I take its lyrics to heart in almost everything I do. Or see this about how important and personally gratifying my Wikipedia work is, my philosophy really. Or in case of lesser known artists, as I do a lot of editing for such artists and much much less for more famous ones who don't need my help this song for example as it guides me where the most need is and where I feel my editing focus should be. These videos are my personal dedications to you to convey my mind set. For transferring a message to Jonathan? Absolutely, sure, by all means. That would be swell. So go ahead. But I would appreciate that the communication is done on my personal media. So e-mails addressed to my werldwayd yahoo account if you will and we will take things from there. Now if I don't get any response, just the same, no worries. We move on. Again I am flabbergasted you chose my talk page to start things rolling. But that was a great choice as I did have a lot of edits in earlier years as well on the page. So I must have been the most plausible pick to move things ahead. For one, it has made me tremendously gratified. And that's all that matters really. Plus anything to giving a boost to a very well-deserving artist. werldwayd (talk) 11:42, 5 May 2020 (UTC) werldwayd (talk) 09:46, 6 June 2020 (UTC)
