Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page William Stringfellow has been reverted.
Your edit here to William Stringfellow was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZcL09HDjRQ&app=desktop) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. music or video) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy, as well as other parts of our external links guideline. If the information you linked to is indeed in violation of copyright, then such information should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file, or consider linking to the original.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 20:09, 22 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm Jim1138. I noticed that you made a change to an article, William Stringfellow, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Jim1138 (talk) 04:00, 23 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

YouTube

edit

YouTube is generally not a wp:reliable source. See wp:NOTRS. Jim1138 (talk) 04:02, 23 October 2018 (UTC) I am a new user and glad for help. the Youtube video is of a lecture that I gave at Loyola University and posted by the Hank Center for Catholic Intellectual ThoughtBwkellermann (talk) 04:48, 23 October 2018 (UTC) Also, you deleted a whole number of citations which I had added to the article - all published books and journalsBwkellermann (talk) 04:51, 23 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Citations

edit

Per wp:verifiability content must wp:cite a wp:reliable source. See help:referencing for beginners Thank you Jim1138 (talk) 04:02, 23 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

A few more tips

edit
  • Puerto Ricans does link to an article. I'm not sure why you wp:piped it to Hispanics.
  • See help:talk pages on how to thread messages.
  • Those influencing and influenced do need a citation
  • External links must clearly support the article.

Hope this helps. Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 05:12, 23 October 2018 (UTC) jim1138 Thanks. Hispanics is a politically problematic identification and in East harlem Puerto Rican was actually more accurate and precise. My name is referenced in the article, not just the box, as influenced by him. Titles and articles demonstrating do seem appropriate in the body of the text. The exterenal link, youtube to be sure, was supportive precisely of the berrigan stringfellow history and relationship. I am designated as Stringfellow's biogrpaher by his estate and have much video and archival material that could be linked to this article, but wouuld need to be in some accessible platform. Is vimeo better? I'll look at help:talk pages Bwkellermann (talk) 13:46, 23 October 2018 (UTC) I'm going to try to add citations again. No Youtube. You've been helpful, even if it's a pain. Thanks.Bwkellermann (talk) 13:53, 23 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
