Welcome to Wikipedia! One of the ways we do things around here is to keep all discussion of the article on the "discussion" (or "talk") page. So I've just moved your "under development" comment from Bronx High School of Science to Talk:Bronx High School of Science.

Again, welcome! RossPatterson 03:57, 29 October 2006 (UTC)

Please read all of the comments just added on Talk:Bronx High School of Science. I see you removed RossPatterson's comment from the Science Talk page. That is not the way things work on Wikipedia - you can edit the main page, but if someone removes your edit, and posts a note about it on the Talk page, you respond on Talk and others will chime in and a consensus is reached. Generally (although not always) people would not reinstate an edit that is in question until it is discussed, but in no circumstance do you remove someone else's comment on the Talk page. If you have questions, please ask - we're all trying to do the same thing here, and that is to make as good a page as possible. Sometimes when people are new to a situation they don't completely understand how things are done, so others are here to explain. Tvoz 09:45, 29 October 2006 (UTC)

expanding the Bronx Science page

edit

hi again - if you are a student at Science or recent graduate, I wonder if you could provide some information that would fit into the "research" section you are proposing so that we don't have a heading without content. Data about the library holdings could be a good place to start as you mentioned.Tvoz 19:21, 29 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

I posted a question on Talk:Bronx High School of Science for you about the library info - you can respond there. Thanks for adding it!Tvoz 18:04, 2 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi - don't know if you saw my question on the Science talk page a couple of days ago about this: the stuff you added about the library is great, and is a good reference too (which the page needs more of). Were those 2 paragraphs a direct quote from the article you cited? That's cool if they are, I just think we should make that a little clearer - you can leave me a note on User Talk:Tvoz if you want, and I'll fix it if needed, or you can fix it if you want. Thanks - also, about the premature FA recommendation - the guy put it back and I reverted it to your GA request because I think you are totally right that it's not ready for FA status. The process wasn't done properly anyway, so if you see it again, I think it's ok to revert it again back to your GA tag. (You can respond here or on my talk page - whichever you want.) --Tvoz 20:25, 6 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

nomination for featured article

Yes, I completely agree with you - I'm not the one who nominated it, and I think it is not yet ready. Don't know if we can "un-nominate" or not. Tvoz 19:13, 5 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Bronx Science Auditorium

hey, man! I am a senior. I took that picture with the Journalism (newspaper) camera. It was not scanned, but the light was horrible, the flash fired---but it reflected off of the waxed wood chairs. I want to take another one tomorrow or Friday. What's your name? I'll take the pic with you, do you have 8th or 9th free? If you do, drop by Room 209 either 8th or 9th period, and ask for Ryan. I am A&E editor / technology coordinator for the SCience Survey. I want to meet you----you, the freshman who trumps all with wikipedia contributions! I also contributed the picture of the solar-panel screen in the main hallway. I took that the same day. Talk to you soon.--Rocketrye12 23:37, 6 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

okay, nice to hear from you. i will be in room 209 8th and 9th period, so just drop by at the beginning of 9th (or whenever you want). I'll be sure to be in the room at the beginning of the period, but if i'm not there later on, just ask someone where I am. The door will be closed, and there will be a teacher in there, but don't worry----its just a production room, just barge in. I was referring to Dhara when I was talking about the debate captain. Is she not? we'll do an auditorium re-take, and talk about the debate section (of which I know nothing about). just out of curiosity, do you have a facebook? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Rocketrye12 (talkcontribs) 01:31, 7 December 2006 (UTC).Reply

I am a horrible person! I have been so caught up in SO MUCH, that I keep on promising to upload...but never do. I don't even have the Journalism camera with me over the break. it will have to wait until we get back. happy holidays!--Rocketrye12 05:28, 26 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Bxsstudent, I would like to use the Bronx Science logo you produced for the Bronx Science userbox. You say that the the logo is copyrighted. However, since it is work produced by a part of the New York City government (the school being a part of the Department of Education, which is a part of the New York City government), it is ineligible to receive copyright protections (please see Wikipedia Public Domain: Us Government Works). Please let me know what you think. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Arnob1 (talkcontribs) 15:54, 11 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (File:BxSciLOGO.svg)

edit

Thanks for uploading File:BxSciLOGO.svg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:11, 25 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:BxSci Logo.png

edit

A tag has been placed on File:BxSci Logo.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited The Bronx High School of Science, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bedford Park. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
