I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Libertarian Party of Idaho, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.
To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.
One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)
In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

- I am part of the parent body - an editor keeps changing who is recognized by the parent body and the person doing the editting is on a take-over board and should be prohibiting from editing. I am not paid by anyone, it is all volunteer. What do we do to protect this page? The user who is part of a takeover group not recognized by the parent body is: Joerevans. I have never been in Idaho, and have no other information or desire to put anything on the Idaho page - the only interest is the misrepresentation about the recognized leadership.

- Ok, no worries. Unfortunately, I can't do anything to recover the old account for you. If you can't remember the password and can't reset the password, then the account might be lost forever. But you can still edit using this account with no problems. Out of an abundance of caution, I've blocked your old account, just to ensure that someone can't gain control of it and impersonate you (if, for instance, they gained access to the email address that was used to register that account). - Thank you I appreciate it. I am trying to avoid the other user who apparently has some huge issue with me. I am not a regular editor here and do not know all the nuances of the rules and never meant to run afoul of any. There is obviously some personal animus there, and I have no desire to have that be part of wikipedia. If there is ever anything I can do to assist vis a vis the national Libertarian Party, do not hesitate to ask.CAHarlos (talk) 04:16, 9 September 2022 (UTC)
- I'm not intimately familiar with your specific conflicts, but I can offer some brief advice: Wikipedians tend to be suspicious when a self-proclaimed "insider" shows up to an article. Firstly, there is usually no way to positively verify that you are who you say you are. Secondly, many insiders find their way to specific articles on Wikipedia because they have an agenda. They want something to be portrayed a certain way, they want to remove certain unflattering details, etc. Sometimes they just want to correct something that they believe is flat-out wrong. Either way, insiders are not given any special status. Everything added to articles still ultimately needs to be referenced to reliable sources, or else it can be challenged and removed. So, I'd caution you against pushing too hard with your real-life experience and knowledge (i.e. "I hold the title of XYZ in the ABC Political Party, therefore I know that this part of the article is factually incorrect...") because, for the reasons outlined above, none of that matters. Lots more to read on this subject at WP:COI, if you're interested. I think you'll find that a lot of people will soften up if you demonstrate that your purpose for contributing to Wikipedia is to further the interests of the encyclopedia, rather than furthering your own personal interests, the interests of your employer, or the interests of a political organization that you're a member of. —ScottyWong— 16:31, 9 September 2022 (UTC)
- I just saw this. As I said I am not a regular contributor here, nor do I intend to be. I administer LPedia, which is the wiki of the Libertarian Party. If no one cares to verify things with people who actually are part of the organization in question (my identify is very easy to verify) then my lack of interest is well-founded.
