Schuylkill Navy Page
editHey I saw you had done a fair amount of editing on some pages on boathouse row. I'm doing a project at Cornell University on the Schuylkill Navy page and I could use any help you'd be willing to throw my way. I am on the heavyweight squad at Cornell and one of my partners is on the lightweight team here. We think we've done a pretty solid job upgrading the article, but anything you could add would be great. Thanks!

Troy Laundry Building
editYou added Seattle Landmark status to this building, located in Portland, Oregon. Is that true? --Another Believer (Talk) 23:20, 5 March 2013 (UTC)
No, that was a mistake. I'll fix it. Thanks for catching that. Cacw (talk) 23:25, 5 March 2013 (UTC)
- No problem! If there are in fact two distinct Troy Laundry Buildings, we should probably move the current page to Troy Laundry Building (Portland, Oregon) and create Troy Laundry Building (Seattle). --Another Believer (Talk) 23:32, 5 March 2013 (UTC)
I agree, should the Seattle one be Troy Laundry Building (Seattle) or Troy Laundry Building (Seattle, Washington)? Cacw (talk) 23:39, 5 March 2013 (UTC)
- I believe just Seattle. This is because the actual Wikipedia article for Seattle is just "Seattle", not "Seattle, Washington". My understanding is that disambiguation should only be carried out as far as necessary. I hope this makes sense. --Another Believer (Talk) 23:41, 5 March 2013 (UTC)
That makes sense, I'll create it with Seattle only then. Cacw (talk) 23:53, 5 March 2013 (UTC)
- Great! And if, in the future, the community comes to the consensus that "Washington" needs to be in the title, the page will simply be moved and your work will remain in tact. --Another Believer (Talk) 00:24, 6 March 2013 (UTC)
Using designation list in Infobox building
editHi there. Did you know that {{infobox building}} has its own "embedded" parameter to put {{designation list}} in, just like {{infobox park}}?[1] Or are you thinking that we should change the layout of infobox building so the embedded is moved from the bottom to the top? Thanks. Zzyzx11 (talk) 07:38, 6 March 2013 (UTC)
No I wasn't aware. I often have trouble trying to embed {{designation list}} into infoboxes. I often forget which ones have the embed parameter. I just put it there to try and get it to work. I try to use the embed feature whenever I can. Thanks for correcting the Space Needle page for me. Cacw (talk) 07:58, 6 March 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for Philly stuff
editThanks for starting the Philadelphia Register of Historic Places page and finding this. I'd thought it a lost cause find the Philly list. I'm wondering the best format for the article/list. In general I'd love to have photos, addresses, and coordinates, but the list is simply too long to do that for everything.
I do a lot of photography of historic buildings and such on Wikipedia, e.g. roughly the last third of the photos at National Register of Historic Places listings in Philadelphia and the majority at List of public art in Philadelphia. Tell me if you have any particular interest in a particular site or district. I'm not adverse to just doing inventories.
Do you know User:BoringHistoryGuy ?
Any help appreciated, and thanks again.

- Hi, thanks for noticing. I'm working on putting the page into table form with images. You're right the list is about 10,000 properties long, but I think that's ok. We don't need to replicate the entire list, I am just adding those properties that are individually listed (and not those only listed as part of a district -- pages describing the districts can be added later) and have a Wikipedia article.
- I'm new here so I don't know BoringHistoryGuy. Cacw (talk) 20:58, 7 March 2013 (UTC)
- I think I'd limit tables to about 300 entries - otherwise they get clumsy to work with and take a long time to upload. Just introduce yourself to Boring if you want to do Philly history. Not that he owns it, but he always gives good advice and has good ideas. Smallbones(smalltalk) 05:29, 8 March 2013 (UTC)
- I'm mostly working on the Wikipedia:WikiProject Historic Sites for different cities and states. I'm not really working on Philly alone. I've never been there. I think I'm done with the Philadelphia Register of Historic Places page for now. I added everything I could find and it only comes to about 67 articles, so it's not too big. It would be nice if someone with some knowledge of the area could create pages for the historic districts listed at the bottom of the page (15 of them), most don't exist and a few are merged with the neighborhood of the same name. I'm not sure if the historic districts and the neighborhoods are really the same thing or not. Cacw (talk) 06:20, 8 March 2013 (UTC)

Disambiguation pages
editHi. I see you added a couple of links to the disambiguation page Little Red Schoolhouse. That's appreciated. However, you'll find that redlinks are not popular on disambiguation pages; when you add a title that doesn't yet have an article, be sure to include a bluelink to a article that will provide some information about the topic. (See WP:Disambiguation for more on the ins and outs of these pages.) I added a link for the Little Red Schoolhouse in New Hampshire, although the targeted page isn't much help. I have no idea, however, what to do about Little Red Schoolhouse (Illinois). --Orlady (talk) 19:33, 8 March 2013 (UTC)
- Hi, thanks for adding the blue link to the New Hampshire Register page for the N.H. schoolhouse for me. I usually try to stay away from disambig pages because I don't know the rules. As for the Little Red Schoolhouse (Illinois), I didn't add that one so I have no idea what to do about it. Cacw (talk) 22:19, 8 March 2013 (UTC)
- Indeed, you didn't add it. My apologies to you. It was added by an anon IP several months ago. No clue what they were thinking. I just now deleted it. Thanks for pointing out my error! --Orlady (talk) 22:46, 8 March 2013 (UTC)

editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Philadelphia Register of Historic Places, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Park Avenue Historic District (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
