Igor Sikorsky
editCan you please tell me why you deleted "my version" of the biography of Igor Sikorsky? OK, it's not the best written article ever, but it does have a lot more information the the version before that. I just started to get into Wikipedia and you are not encouraging me. Mabey you have a good reason for that, if so, tell me so I can learn! Mariah-Yulia 01:58, 14 February 2006 (UTC)
Tables not working in article
editI'm trying to add material to the Ford Mustang SSP page, and the table that I added doesn't want to work properly. Parts of the table with info refuses to show up. Can you please assist? I don't want to add more material to the article lest it worsens the situation even further. --Cantthinkofausername 10:15, 8 February 2006 (UTC)
- "Black" in the tables was my attempt to turn the Green of the "First Generation" bar to Black to match the top. So I just pasted the top table | boxcolor = Black to the table. --Cantthinkofausername 10:46, 8 February 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for the help. I'll try and fiddle around with it abit more. --Cantthinkofausername 10:58, 8 February 2006 (UTC)
- That looks much, much better. Thanks again!!--Cantthinkofausername 11:26, 8 February 2006 (UTC)
Able archer
editGotcha, sorry.
The problem is that I believe that "ABLE ARCHER 83" is the correct title for the article. The actual military exercise was spelled as ABLE ARCHER 83. Is it worth changing this, or will it just muck everything up?
A question?

Canadian Airports
editHeh, you're welcome! As it was, it took me ~3+ hours to get done what I did with AWB doing an edit every ~6 seconds. I noticed towards the end it looked like we were tripping over each other, but hey, it looks like it's done! I did nominate Category:Airports of Prince Edward Island be renamed to Category:Airports on Prince Edward Island - seems to make more sense, such as Category:Airports in the Yukon. —akghetto talk 11:47, 10 February 2006 (UTC)
Airport fix
editThanks for your comments.
Both La Grande 3 and 4 airfields are serving only the hydro stations, there is not a community nearby. I am not much in favor of creating stub articles (in this case for La Grande-4) and neither does it make sense to link the location served to the James Bay Project (too broad) unless this article get expanded to describe all hydro stations individually (I'm considering that for the near future - at that time I will probably redirect the La Grande-3 stub to this article).
Also, did you know that are 2 more airfields farther along at La Forge 1 and 2. These are not listed in any article...
You sent me a message...

Merge advice
editI expect to be merging two articles. Their lengths are in a ratio of approximately 3:1. Both have been translated to other languages. Do I
- Leave the "into" list as is,
- Combine the two lists, or
- Remove all lists?
The larger has 23 citations, the smaller has 20.
The first two schemes show that translations exist; the third might help alert non-English Wikipedias that the job will need to be redone. What is the proper thing to do? Thank you. B00P 04:47, 15 February 2006 (UTC)

hey
editive been given a final warning for removing the team pseudoflux article for you as you seem so desperate to remove it. seeing as i started the article dont see how removing it is vandalism! please sort it out and stop being so petty
you guys didnt seem to mind vandalising the improvements made to that article..
oh and just so you know the emboldened "michael warner" was an addition i made i was simply removing the emboldenment as you had removed my additions
VANDALISM... so is removing other persons additions may i also point out that publicly displaying a person IP address breaks the data protection act as well as the basic human right of privacy..
your comment of "If I was to nonsense into an article such as "Person X is the best in the world" and you removed it that would not be vandalism on your part." is very uncouth as 1) it was not stating that "Person X is the best in the world" at all so please stop insulting your own intelligence. 2) with myself being the founder of an organisation and helping hundreds of young persons take an interest in being active. ive also had multiple people tell me how learning parkour has helped them to the point where they no longer wish to commit suicide.. then yes you must me right it was complete nonsense you were right to remove it.
Let them see it in the history then fair enough if you guys log it but you have no right to display it here! my IP is not GNU buddy. ive noticed you seem to pick and choose which parts in this section have their IP's displayed. I dont see yours anywhere alan tad unfair i think.
Im just removing each time what I consider to be a major security threat. if you dont like me removing my own personal details STOP adding them to this page!
~ ~ EXTRACT FROM THE DATA PROTECTION ACT 1998 ~ ~ Ensure that your website transmits information securely. This means that it will have to use suitable encryption. Ask whoever builds or operates your website for advice on this.

The email picture is probably a fake as a aegolius funereus is a Tengmalm's Owl which looks nothing like a Snowy Owl as the O RLY? article says it is. As for the albino Boreal, well a Boreal owl would be a albino Tengmalm's Owl. The two owls look nothing alike and the O RLY owl looks more like a Snowy Owl. Plus the O RLY owl looks like a stuffed bird. Also this indicates that the email at the zoo is invalid. Here's the original fake email. Cheers CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 12:10, 19 February 2006 (UTC)

What's this about vandalism?
editLook, I use this website from home, but only come here periorically from my school computer. I have never edited an article on wikipedia from this computer, or any in the school network. I have tried to edit pages from home, mostly correcting spelling mistakes or changing formatting so it fits with the rest of the page, and once or twice correcting broken links, but I have always been blocked. This time it said my IP adress is 64.42.226.63, which I cannot verify on a school computer, but why am I being blocked at home as well? Various obscure airports
editHi CBWeather,
Hey, I've been to Cambridge Bay and Holman (1994). Just wanted to drop by and let you know I'll be adding some photos of some obscure airports very gradually, I'm trying to do so without messing up your pages as they exist now. I see you added my Iqaluit terminal photo to the box on that airport page, looks nice!
I didn't thumbnail the ones I just added to Sachigo Lake as the page is so empty of any other content and the images are small, but I don't mind if you do so later on as the article grows. Technicalglitch 17:28, 6 March 2006 (UTC)
Ok, sorry. I was just trying to be helpful by slimming down the article as was requested by another member. I'm very sorry.
Mirabel Airport
editHello! Me too I was thinking that Montreal-Mirabel Airport has just 1 runway, but let me show what I found:http://www.admtl.com/cargo_services.aspx?id=60. here it shows 2 runways. I don't know if both are in use, but I think that if there are 2 runways we should put them on the article. I wait for an answer. Regards, NorbertArthur 6 March 2006
Regarding your warning about posting commercial links (or links to my own private websites) to Wikipedia - the site I added was neither a commercial website nor my own. It's especially silly that the link has been deleted in light of what is allowed.
(For example, the link to "Ted Nasmith Uncredited" is untouched: http://www.geocities.com/tednasmith/ But you won't allow a link to a fuller look at the same topic: http://www.angelfire.com/film/rings/art.html)
But it doesn't matter to me. I just thought considering JW's site has every LOTR movie fact under the sun (lots of which have ended up on wikipedia), it should be posted. I guess I was wrong.

Greetings, CBW!
You were kind enough to support the FAC candidacy of my article on Katie Holmes for which I am grateful. I've put forward another nomination, Ohio's lieutenant goveror Bruce Johnson and I would appreciate your comments at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Bruce Johnson. editG'day. Thanks very much for reverting the vandalism on my page. I didn't notice I had been done over as you cleared it so quickly. Much obliged! Maustrauser 12:19, 9 March 2006 (UTC)
Edits to Kriya Yoga and other related pages
editHi, I received a notice from you regarding placing personal links in the edits. This is not true, and my edits are being abused by others editors with different POV. I feel that they are vandalizing my edits, whereas I have never tried to alter any body else's posts. I would like clarification on this matter. The member NoToFrauds has a very strong POV and continues to vandalize my edits. I have made attempts by being very clear on all talk pages about my desire to come to an agreement with him and other editors. Other editors have been amenable to this, whereas NoToFrauds has tried to slander me and my edits with unverifiable opinions, and this has affected my relationship with other editors. I would urge a thorough investigation on this, and I would like to know what other ramifications there are for users constantly vandalizing my posts. Your help is much appreciated. Thank you. Hamsacharya dan 21:11, 10 March 2006 (UTC)
- Hi CambridgeBayWeather,
- I've written to you on my Talk page in regard to your response to my inquiry. I am not sure what Wikipedia policy is regarding these issues, and would like clarification about what are the proper actions that I should take to be fully in tow with Wikipedia policy while minimizing the adverse effects of the behaviors of these editors. Any help you can provide in curtailing destructive activities by these editors, and any information that you can provide regarding my current options would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
- I would also like to know why that note I received had your signature on it. The note had a colored box with a hand in it, and a note from NoToFrauds to me. Outside of the colored box was a message about removing outside links in the body of entries, and was signed by you. I don't know how to retrieve that message after having closed out of that window.

You're mediating at Kriya Yoga, Mahavatar Babaji, Adi-Nath, Nath, etc.?
editAn editor asked me to monitor the above pages and a few more, saying somebody else was vandalizing them. Then that other editor said the first person was the vandal. I said I'd watch the pages. Somewhere in this melee, somebody mentioned you were already involved in mediating this. It sounds like a pretty normal editing conflict (and is way outside my realm of expertise). So, like I said, I'll monitor those pages for blatant vandalism; if there's anything I should know about this conflict, please let me know. Cheers, JDoorjam Talk 00:44, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
- Oy. Ok. Thanks for letting me know. I'm going to try (perhaps fruitlessly, I suppose) to calm these folks down and work out some compromises. Regards, JDoorjam Talk 06:25, 11 March 2006 (UTC)

Please Stop Vandalizing My Talk Page
editYour biased comments and threats on my own personal Talk Page will not be tolerated. If you insist that what I have said were personal attacks then check out the words of the person you are defending on Yogiraj Gurunath Siddhanath Talk Page where he even referred to me as a "moron." So, if I call him a cultist (which he really is, his picture and contact information is even displayed in the cult's webpage) I am making personal attacks but when he calls me a fraud, a vandal and a moron it is alright. What's wrong with you? And so what if I used the warning sign? I never claimed to be a sysop or threaten him with anything that is beyond my ability as an ordinary editor. There is no pretension there. It was he who vandalized an article using a sockpuppet IP and said "nice quote, leave it there" as if he wasn't the one who put that article there in the first place. Something which he himself admitted doing. If you block me then there will always be sysops who will unblock me, and I will take it as a PERSONAL offense against you because you are biased.
NoToFrauds 22:40, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
I didn't leave that comment. The bassist of the Kramers did. Don't assume. Thanks.
Also, I didn't finish the article, I had to hit the hay. I was getting to the notability part.

Personal attack stuff
editThese attacks were posted by Pm_shef here: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Eyeonvaughan&oldid=41257881
Quotations:
- "Meanwhile this "reputable candidate" you keep referring to, Elliot Frankl, is a nutcase"
- "Sure maybe she's not as intelligent as someone like Elinor or other MP's, but she's a hell of a lot better than Racco, a sleazeball to the nth degree"
Pm_shef has already received his second warning. He should remove his many personal attacks soon, or otherwise some of these attacks will be removed and he will receive his third and final warning. UndergroundRailroad 01:50, 13 March 2006 (UTC)
- Indeed, following me calling User:MSJapan a "troublemaker", we resolved that dispute after he had explained to me his motivation for nominating for AfD. I have no malicious intent towards him. But I absolutely do not deserve two warnings, I simply did not violate WP:NPA where undergroundrailroad says I did -- pm_shef 02:47, 13 March 2006 (UTC)
- AFAIK, the situation referred to with me is over and done with, and the situation has worked itself out amicably for all parties involved. I wouldn't really consider being called a "troublemaker" to violate WP:NPA; I've got a number of rants from various sockpuppets on my user talk page that fit that bill much more nicely than pm_shef's statement. Furthermore, if the current accusations have absolutely nothing to do with any WP user, as opposed to this being the result of a strongly worded opinion that somebody didn't like, why is this even an issue? MSJapan 03:30, 13 March 2006 (UTC)
- Fair enough. I think my statement should answer the question, though. MSJapan 03:39, 13 March 2006 (UTC)

Nath page - image for deletion
editHi CBW,
I wanted to ask how to get an image deleted? I uploaded a picture to the Nath page, and I made some added some text edits as well. The editors guarding the page are constantly removing my edits, so I'd like to take the picture away. I feel that it's not right to leave that for them, and I'm not here to constantly involve myself in edit wars. I feel really disturbed emotionally over all the slandering of the information I have been adding, and I don't think I can continue this. I guess this is the problem with wikipedia - the last man standing wins rather than there always being unbiased discussion and concensus. Anyway, back to the matter at hand. Regarding the image: the proper copyright info was never given in the first place - so it doesn't belong there. I've already marked it with the ifd tag, but it wasn't deleted - I think someone took off the tag. Or maybe I didn't do it right. Your help please? Thanks.. Hamsacharya dan 04:35, 13 March 2006 (UTC)
CBW, I see that you are an administrator who has edited this article in the past. There is a current dispute on the article between User:Gbambino and one or more anonymous editors at Talk:Upper Canada College. This dispute led to an edit war that I ended by semi-protecting the page. I have attempted to mediate, but one of the anon editors does not accept that I am being impartial in this. I would appreciate you taking a look at the situation and providing your views. If I have been unfair, or if I could have handled this in a better way, I would like to know. Thanks, Ground Zero | t 16:07, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
- It seems that the anon user does not see you as being neutral either, so I guess it wouldn't help having you involved. Sorry to bother you. Ground Zero | t 16:51, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
Greetings. The above user (whom you have warned about this before) is again engaging in personal attacks in the most recent Talk:Mahavatar Babaji discussions. I am tempted to sanction him myself, but I have been actively editing the article, and I would like to avoid the appearance of a conflict of interest. Any input you could provide would be welcome. Richard Greenbury
editWhen you ask me to merge the two articles would you like me to completely overlay 'Sir Ricahard Greenbury' on top of 'Richard Greenbury' only because much of my content, and all my format and order, has been taken from the later of the two. With the only addition of expanding largely on a greater variety of the topics.
May I ask how I might change Sir Richard Greenbury to a re-dirct, and how to add pictures to the article as I am having some trouble. Your help has been fantastic. Thankyou.
Thanks
editI didn't catch that one, thanks for beating me to it :) -- Tawker 00:57, 19 March 2006 (UTC)

labour friends of israel
editi'm sorry, but if ignorance is defined as 'lacking knowledge of', u r indeed ignorant on this topic. lfi is not a single issue grp and it is not wise to rely on its 'official' summary to give a full and accurate picture of its raison d'etre. Jamaissur
- Please keep in mind that User:Jamaissur's main activities on Wikipedia consist of:
- writing boilerplate articles on British Jews (or people he imagines are British Jews) convicted of crimes or associated with scandals, listing the most negative information available regarding them, and then adding them to Categories and Lists of British Jews;
- trying to link various Jews or criminals to Israel in some way, and particularly to imply dual-loyalty on their part; and
- copyediting articles on Holocaust Deniers and neo-Nazis, attempting to minimize criticism of them.
- That should help put his "contributions" in context. Jayjg (talk) 16:05, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
- "he's a wicked thought-criminal -- pls join us in harassing him off wikipedia." as i said, it's a neglected area 4 some reason. but i deny that i have been "attempting to minimize criticism of" holo-deniers and neo-nazis. evidence 2 the contrary is welcomed. Jamaissur
- "Though criminal"? I have no idea what's in your thought, Jamaissur. I've only commented on your actions. Does this accurate summary of your activities here put you in a bad light? I've certainly been more balanced regarding your actions than you have been regarding the many alleged British Jews on which you've been doing hatchet jobs, trying to tie them to crime and/or scandal, (and, of course, to Israel). Heads up
editCam, I have had that article under semi-protection for about a week now, which is longer than semi-protection is intended for. I think that I should lift s-p tomorrow as an experiment to see if we can get back to normal editing. The article would need careful monitoring, and a willingness to return to semi-protection if disruption returns. Your thoughts? Ground Zero | t 18:13, 19 March 2006 (UTC) Thanks again for your contribution to resolving this dispute.
With all possible fingers crossed, I have lifted semi-protection. Regards, Ground Zero | t 18:03, 20 March 2006 (UTC)
Check its protection log and you will know who unprotected it. He doesn't seem to be interested in removing the notice when unprotect an article. --BorgQueen 00:06, 20 March 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for the note. There are two sides in the argument over the yoga pages centred on the above. One side seems to consist of 4 or 5 editors, most of whom are pretty reasonable, and User:Hamsacharya dan on the other, who can be reasonable, but is very persistent. The most difficult editor in the dispute is User:NoToFrauds, who has resorted to insults, name calling and generally assuming bad faith almost from the beginning. On top of that, I'd say a case can be made given his edit history that his username is a violation of our username policy. It boils down to a religious argument, one side says the other side isn't really a representative of their religion (hence "no to frauds"). Of course there is no way to prove any of this one way or the other. I've been trying for a bit to get things to a simpler, inoffensive edit that will calm things down, but the activity on the pages is pretty heavy, and things rapidly degenerate. Unfortunately, my computer was down most of yesterday and I am also working on similar themes at the Reiki and Falungong pages as well, so I haven't been able to pay a lot of attention to the dispute you've asked about. I've said all of that to say that I don't know what to do with them, either! User:Hamsacharya dan has gotten a 3RR block, which will quiet things down a bit. I put the page on Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Religion and philosophy several days ago, but that hasn't gone anywhere. There is one editor whom I know that may be interested in this one, I'll ask him to look in on things. Regards, --Fire Star 01:43, 20 March 2006 (UTC)

editDear Sir,
I note that your were involved with the downloading of a still from How the West Was Won on the Cinerama pages. I would like to download two still images, one each of the Kinopanorama films produced to date by Fifth Continent Australia Pty Ltd. I can not figure out how to do this. Can you assist? I would be more than pleased to email you jpeg images, and if you have the time you could download them on my behalf. I am wrting an article on Kinopanorama for the Australian Cinematographers Society. Also, I have the copyright permission from John Steven Lasher to download the photos. How do I indicate that the images are their copyright, so that no copyright infringement notice comes back from Wiki.

Links
editHi. You sent me an email saying i can not add links to Wikipedia but content i can. I'd be more than happy add content but i dont know what kind of site this is if it doesnt allow links to RELATED sites. Especially seeming this is an encyclopedia and already there are links to related topics why am i not allowed to share mine? This makes Wikipedia far more relevant, reliable and detailed. So i have to ask why are other sites allowed to be listed and not mine? This isnt for advertising its for convinience not for me but for readers of Wikipedia..."Oh this topic looks interesting i want to know more" then a related site is perfect...Honestly what kind of idea is that? To have no links allowed...This isnt a commercial or profit site so i dont see the problem. Explain please.

editOkay i ask if you can please then keep my one link simply on the Ghosts Section on Wikipedia...Its Related (not unrelated) to the topic...Is this still considered spamming? Having one link up on Wikipedia? If so you need to further study what "spamming" is- i'm going to put my link up at the Ghost Section once again- its a related site (check it out for yourself)...If you delete it im going to be complaining about your accusation of me spamming with simply one website.
Thank You.
-Ram-
- Actually, there are a lot of sites on the net with "related" information. Related because they in some way deal with ghosts and the paranormal. But the simple fact that these sites deal with ghosts doesn't qualify them for inclusion in the ghost article here on wikipedia. What is important is that the sites we link to are encyclopedic, and preferably of fairly high quality, and where the information is more or less reliable. IMHO - and I mean no offense, mind you - your website doesn't fit these requirements. Wikipedia is supposed to be an encyclopedia, not a bulletin board where any individual can advertise for his or her personal homepage. Otherwise, Wikipedia would be flooded with links to sites and webpages that interest only their own makers. So, in order to solve this matter in a more or less democratic manner, I suggest that you add add a suggestion for inclusion of the link to your homepage on the talk page related to the Ghost article. /Magore 19:28, 23 March 2006 (UTC)
Vandalism
editI note your warning on User_talk:195.195.24.252
This user has been warned and blocked so many times that it's laughable, thereby requiring extensive time and resources to be used to correct his/her edits. Huddersfield New College is unable to control the access to PC's by it's students, who are free to act as they wish when online. Would it not be better to put an extened block of 6 months on the site. That would then cover the period up and until the next school term, probably taking the vandal out of the equation entirely? 86.3.1.121 14:47, 23 March 2006 (UTC)

Got your message about my edit to the Apple Computer page, in which I added a link to Apple's conference call transcripts. I'm totally baffled by your removal of this link. Apple's conference calls are genuinely useful content. The company discusses its business, strategy and results on the calls, and answers questions from analysts. Why on earth would you want to remove a link to this from Wikipedia? I don't see a way to include excerpts from the calls themselves, as the most relevant call is the most recent one.
Did you read the conference call transcript before you removed the link to it?
Please reconsider your removal of the link.
