Hi Adam, I am so sorry I am responding so late. I was expecting a response in my email. To answer your question my intended topic is the Great Slave Auction or the auction known as "The Weeping Time" I think I may edit it again. - It's ok! I've edited the draft a bit to create an introduction section. If your goal is to make an article on the Great slave auction, try to (first) write a short article indicating:
- What it is, when it happened, why it happened. This should include support for the claim that it was the largest auction ever (preferably with more than one source supporting that claim).
- Some biographical information about Butler and his finances might be helpful to establish context for the sale, perhaps more important than a note that the rain stopped at the end of the sale and champagne was served.
- Wikipedia articles are normally cited with references next to the claims they're supporting. You've got a list of general references at the end and that's fine to start but you'll want to add in some, especially for the more detailed or bold claims. Also direct quotes require inline citations. I've added one to your draft to show you how they might look. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have other questions?
