Article accepted

edit

Hi. There was a bit of a mix-up at Articles for Creation and your article got rejected before I could accept it. But I've worked it out with the other reviewer, and accepted your article. You will find it now under Daniel K. Inouye College of Pharmacy. Note that because you are closely connected to the college, you should declare that on the talk page (I'll leave below all of the instructions about that), and should avoid further editing of the article except to fix obvious details, like dates or names. Conflict of Interest

edit

(As promised, rules to follow)

  Hello, Caonashi. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your circle, your organization, its competitors, projects or products;
  • instead propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. LaMona (talk) 17:36, 12 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Caonashi would you please acknowledge receipt of the above? Also, please read WP:BOOSTER. You can reply here, as I am watching this page. Jytdog (talk) 15:24, 19 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi Caoniashi. Have you read the COI guideline? If so, why are you continuing to edit the article directly? Do tell. Thanks. Jytdog (talk) 01:27, 21 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
Hello. I was editing the portions of which I thought you were requesting that I improve/edit.Caonashi (talk) 02:02, 21 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
based on your note at the article talk page, you understand that you should not directly edit. that is great. Jytdog (talk) 03:02, 21 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
btw, if you want to understand why we have this guideline, i would be happy to explain. if you are getting a degree at the school and go into the field, you should go in with a keen awareness of what COI is in the real world, as well as in WP. The same notions apply. Jytdog (talk) 03:03, 21 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
Mahalo for your help, Jytdog. I read quite a bit into COI and also the discussion on your page about initiating the investigation of your own COI. I found that part interesting and although I'd like to be able to dispel whatever concerns there may exist with my COI, I don't think the idea of everyone self-initiating investigations is practical.
