Imagine my distress and the distress of family and friends when we all see libelous and demafamatory statements published on Wikipedia. The idea of legal action was my immediate reaction when I felt that I wasn't getting adequate response from Wikipedia. I am willing to withdraw the idea of legal action but please do take into account that your site is being used by people who have no moral standing and are ready and willing to abuse your trust to attack third parties.

I was never involved in the Falkland Islands, I was never a combattant nor a voluntary, there were no interviews nor business meetings. In 1982, I was a highschool teacher in Montevideo teaching mathematics and working for several private radio stations. I was never involved in any war nor supported any war. As a journalist, I entered Parliament as Official State Broadcaster at the request of Vice President Enrique Tarigo, the man that proclaimed that the Argentine invasion was illegal.

In the interest of the truth, I ask you to consider this matter urgently and to stop unscrupulous individuals from using Wikipedia for their spurious interests.

My threat of legal action my reaction to what I thought was lack of responsiveness from Wikipedia regarding a very serious matter. I am willing to withdraw such threat, but please take this matter very seriously.

I was never a voluntary nor a soldier linked to the Falklands War. I did not take part in the conflict. At the time I was a highschool teacher teaching mathematics and working for private radio stations. There were no interviews and no business meetings. Imagine my distress and the distress of my family and friends when reading libelous and defamatory statements published by unscrupulous individuals that are abusing the trust of Wikipedia. I entered Parliament as State Broadcaster at the request of Vice President Dr. Enrique Tarigo the man that headed the campaign to declare that the Argentine invasion was illegal.

Please be aware of the fact of the fact that certain individuals are using Wikipedia for spurious purposes, abusing your trust to damage third parties.

In the interest of the truth, it seems important to point out that the article about which you have been complaining, London mayoral election, 2012, does not say you were active in the Falklands War and it does not say you were a combatant. Bondegezou (talk) 13:32, 23 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hello Carlos G Cortiglia. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article London mayoral election, 2012, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. An unknown user published inaccurate information based on a fabrication that was published by Marxist operators in 2003. There was no 'press interview'. In 1982, there was an officer in the Argentine Army that attacked the Falkland Islands and his name was Coronel Nestor Eduardo Corsiglia. My name is Carlos Gerardo Cortiglia Coronel, although Coronel is not a military rank but the surname of my mother. The whole thing was a complete invention that I have seen across the Internet. They used the similarity of the surnames plus private information that was already in the public domain regarding where I was born, my profession and my family to make the whole story appear credible. The author of the fabrication that was published in 2003 edited his own version and now says that a statement was made during a business meeting with Argentine bussinessman and this is yet another lie. There never was such a meeting. Different versions of the same fictitious story appear across the Internet. I asked Wikipedia to take this issue very seriously.

I understand how you feel, but you should not make legal threats against anyone, even if you think this is a serious issue. Making legal threats is prohibited here, because it has a chilling effect on other editors (it gives a "Don't you dare do that, or else" kind of feeling), which is contrary to the purpose of wikipedia. There are appropriate noticeboards for these kind of problems, so I suggest that you go there. First though, you have to get unblocked. To do so, you have to A)Retract your legal threat 2) Convince us that you will avoid making any more legal threats in the future. Making legal threats is one of the easiest ways to get blocked, but retracting them is the easiest way to get unblocked. I recommend that you read (or re-read) some policies of Wikipedia, to get an idea of what to do and what not to do. Thanks. Thekillerpenguin (talk) 01:58, 23 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
