Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Pecan pie do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used as a platform for advertising or promotion, and doing so is contrary to the goals of this project. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia.

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Pecan pie. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 04:50, 22 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Your contributed article, Pecan Pie Recipe

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, Pecan Pie Recipe. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as yourself. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - Pecan pie. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Pecan pie - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. GILO   A&E 05:22, 22 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Green bean casserole. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia.
I did this because http://fast-and-easy-dinner-recipes.blogspot.com/2011/11/quick-fast-and-easy-festive-green-bean.html is probably inappropriate for an encyclopedia. We usually avoid linking to blogs, forums, and social media sites.

We appreciate your help in making Wikipedia better for everyone. If I made a mistake, feel free to undo my edit. If you have any questions, you can ask at the Help desk.

Thank you! --XLinkBot (talk) 05:39, 22 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Response - Thanks!

edit

Oh there I go again, posting around without checking my messages, lol. I just replied (or my incorrect version of replying) to your helpful response on your chat wall. But of course, without reading your very helpful message! I should have put the tildes! For all you know, it could have been some imposter thanking you - the horror!

I had no idea that Wikipedia was written in its own language like HTML! Luckily, I am relearning my childhood HTML and it's all coming back to me... with the help of hundreds of google searches! Ah yes, I remember the days of referring to the Britannica - you'd be lucky if there was a picture of anything on that page, and you'd be treated to the most bare and basic sentence or two describing the word.

And then light was invented, aka the intraweb... just teasing! I loved them. Thanks for the cookies!

You may find Help:Wiki markup useful if you haven't found it already.
Btw, I will probably opt to make my pies out of something different than pecans this year. Since the prices soared on them, I plan to make a couple of double layer pumpkin pies for Thanksgiving.
I can't knock Britannica...they now use one of my photos. :)

Oh yeah, you may want to follow the instructions to get a single unified account which would give you the same login at all of the Wiki projects like Wikibooks.
