This is just a reminder that Wikipedia:WikiProject England/The West Country Challenge kicks off today, with the first subject being Bristol. Please remember to post entries under your name at Wikipedia:WikiProject England/The West Country Challenge/Bristol. You are receiving this message because you are listed as a participant in the challenge.
Happy editing! --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 08:46, 8 August 2016 (UTC)
The first leg is Bristol. Names are to be added at the bottom of the Bristol page and articles listed. Please also make sure that you add entries you improve/start to the main list on the main page. There will be £10 to win each day for the most points accumulated and then the winner of the county crowed after three days. The overall winner will be decided from the points accumulated from each county round. If you're not interested in winning anything and want to contribute anything you want from the West Country this is fine too though. Best of luck!♦ Dr. Blofeld 09:57, 8 August 2016 (UTC)

Jerry Nadeau
Hello:
The copy edit that you requested from the Guild of Copy Editors of the article Jerry Nadeau has been completed.
I took the liberty of adding what I think is an enlightening paragraph in the Personal section from an article I found on line. Please feel free to remove it if you don't agree.
You will notice that I archived two of the article’s citations (#1 and #62). I suggest that you archive the rest of the article’s URLs as time allows. This ensures that the article's references are available "forever" and that it doesn’t develop “dead links” over time. The site I use is https://archive.org/web/. Simply copy the URL in the citation and paste it in the “Save Page Now” box on the archive.org site and click save. This creates a copy of the original page and provides you with a new URL to add to the original citation. If you look at the URL I've archived you'll see the syntax. You add the new URL to the end of the original citation like this: |archiveurl=http etc|archivedate=26 August 2016}}. Not all websites allow archiving - CBS TV news and the NY Times are two I've come across, so there's not much you can do about that unless there is an alternate citation you could use.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
Kind regards,

Hi there. I've started a new initiative, the Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. It's a long term goal to bring about 10,000 article improvements to the UK and Ireland. Through two contests involving just six or seven weeks of editing so far we've produced over 1500 improvements. Long term if we have more people chipping it and adding articles they've edited independently as well from all areas of the UK then reaching that target is all possible. I think it would be an amazing achievement to see 10,000 article improvements by editors chipping in. If you support this and think you might want to contribute towards this long term please sign up in the Contributors section. No obligations, just post work on anything you feel like whenever you want, though try to avoid basic stubs if possible as we're trying to reduce the overall stub count and improve general comprehension and quality. Thanks.
I'll update that main list once the West Country challenge is complete though so don't worry about adding your entries for the contest to it!♦ Dr. Blofeld 12:19, 30 August 2016 (UTC)

Hi, at Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge we're striving to bring about 10,000 article improvements and creations for the UK and Ireland and inspire others to create more content. In order to achieve this we need diversity of content, in all parts of the UK and Ireland on all topics. Eventually a regional contest will be held for all parts of the British Isles, like they were for Wales and the Wedt Country. We currently have just over 1900 articles and need contributors! If you think you'd be interested in collaborating on this and helping reach the target quicker, please sign up and begin listing your entries there as soon as possible! Africa Destubathon
Hi, thanks for your work so far! Can you do me a favour though and always add every entry you do to the main list here as well as the entries page, regardless if yet approved or not as that's the master list of all articles being done. It's just very time consuming for me to be judging the articles, trying to contribute myself and chasing up what people have done and filling it out for people each time. So if you can take care of that this would be a great help, there's some part filled out ones underneath so you just need to add country, article name and then your username. Thanks.♦ Dr. Blofeld 20:33, 16 October 2016 (UTC)
