(I received your e-mail; I'm replying here.) Hi. Your edits from June 17 are lost in the sense that they've been reverted by another user, but that didn't have anything to do with your namechange. You can see the list of your edits here, and you can see the history of the ONVIF page here. Do you see, in the history, C.Fred reverting your edits? (With the edit summary "Back to neutral version".) But they're not lost from the database. You can see every edit you've ever made here by clicking on the word "diff" in your contributions list, or the word "prev" in the history.

However. It's common that people think their relation to the subject of an article gives them a certain privilege in editing it; but I'm afraid the opposite is the case. We have a bunch of rules intended to defend the encyclopedia from the pressure of promotion and advertising that we are under.

You have a conflict of interest with regard to ONVIF (please click on the "conflict of interest" link and read). Is your position wrt ONVIF a paid one? Thanks for replying. I am indirectly paid by ONVIF, yes, so understood regarding a conflict of interest. So I can suggest edits as you indicated above. Some of the information on membership levels and profiles is incorrect/has changed. That was what I was attempting to edit.

Greetings! I saw Bishonen's message, so I stopped by. The membership levels is probably an easy place to start to show you how to request edits. What you need to do is list, on the article's talk page:

1. What's currently wrong in the article.
2. What it should be changed to.
3. What source supports the change. For something like membership levels, this should be easy enough to provide a link to a page that defines them.

The other nice thing is, when it's smaller pieces of an article at a time, it's easier to evaluate what's going on--so several little changes can get made faster than one bigger change.

I'll be watching the Talk:ONVIF page, so I'll see any messages you add there. I'll also watch this page, so if you have any questions for me, you can just ask them right here. —C.Fred (talk) 20:22, 20 June 2016 (UTC)
