Chris Simon is of Ojibwa descent, and was born in Wawa, Ontario. [1]

Chris Simon was drafted into the NHL in 1990. He was selected by the Philadelphia Flyers in the second round. [2]

Chris Simon is seen as a role model to Native Canadians for his accomplishments in the NHL. He won the biggest accomplishment in hockey in 1996, when he won the Stanley Cup with the Colorado Avalanche. [3]
