You wanna have some fun? ;D

Could you do me a favor and copy-edit/re-word/check the prose in The Sword of Shannara? It's going through a FAC right now, and a reviewer said that I should ask around because I am "too close" to the article. (For the record, I know he's right!) Anyway, thanks if you can. I'm going to post a request at GoCE too, after/during (=]) class. Cheers, -talk- the_ed17 -contribs- 17:49, 18 September 2008 (UTC)

Sorry for the late response. I'll try to help, but I don't think I will be very useful there since I don't have much experience at improving articles at a high level as FA. I don't know if I'm the right person for this. I might go and mess it up rather than improve it ;) Chamal Talk ± 11:31, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
Thanks! And its no problem if you aren't experienced—how else are you going to get experience? =D Thanks a bunch, -talk- the_ed17 -contribs- 18:00, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
If you ever feel like you are in the mood to copy-edit another article, feel free to take a gander through USS Nevada (BB-36). :) No immediate need, but if you ever feel like it.... ;D Cheers! —the_ed1702:39, 2 October 2008 (UTC) P.S. Thanks for the help with TW, too!!! =)

Well, before I would do anything on Wikipedia, I would check to see if the fact is stated on a reliable website. If so, I would just add a reference to the fact. If not, I would remove the information, but give an explanation of your actions on the article's talk page.LAAFansign review 17:41, 20 September 2008 (UTC) P.S. Don't worry. I'll come out of the state of "wikibonked" soon enough. ;)

Also, just checked, and your second DYK nom passed. Congrats.--LAAFansign review 17:55, 20 September 2008 (UTC)
OK, thanks. It's nothing directly concerning me though, just wondering :) Chamal Talk ± 01:06, 21 September 2008 (UTC)

The Royal Militia of Pokeynutity

You have been invited to join the Royal Militia of Pokeynutity as a General. Please respond ASAP ~ The Rebel's Gone Pokeynuts LOL 03:47, 21 September 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the offer. But I don't think one person can be in two factions, I'll check with Darkside2000. And I have to get permission from Her Supreme Highness as well ;) If I can't join and the two factions are allies, I'll always assist with training your militia, or something like that. Chamal Talk ± 04:06, 21 September 2008 (UTC)
Oh, you have my permission - that is, if it is acceptable after all. Heh, we're allies, right? It's not like you're joining with The Evil One... —La Pianista (TCS) 04:25, 21 September 2008 (UTC)

Quick nonsensical question

Here it is - how are you? :D —La Pianista (TCS) 04:22, 21 September 2008 (UTC)

Um... I'm OK. So how are you :D Chamal Talk ± 04:24, 21 September 2008 (UTC)
Well...as merry as a queen can be!
Just asking this question since not much has been going on outside the WikiNation. Meh. But see ya on the battleground. Our vampire ally has revived from the undead! Yuck, that was too dramatic. Well, meh. :p La Pianista (TCS) 04:28, 21 September 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, she's trying to vampirize me I think. She has asked me (and you too, I see) to join her. Still undecided about it, since I need permission from your highness and I have a feeling it would be weird if I was on two factions. By the way, aren't you active these days? I saw you are at the Guild of Copy Editors, so how about getting back to work with something really serious? Maybe a GA or FA.... ;) Chamal Talk ± 04:38, 21 September 2008 (UTC)

I'm just like Bella Swan...emergancy vampirization. serves them right for @#$^%!$^ assasinating me! The Rebel's Gone Pokeynuts LOL 04:35, 21 September 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rebel Queen Pokeynut (talkcontribs)

How about sending a swarm of bats to get your revenge then? Maybe the POV infected evil ones can be vampirized. Easy way to build up a huge army; benefit of being a vampire I guess ;) Chamal Talk ± 04:41, 21 September 2008 (UTC)
Yeah. In regards to your first question, though, I am working on some serious stuff. Right now there's a debate on the Chopin article about Eugene Delacroix's painting. Edit wars on that page are frequent and, quite, frankly, drive me nuts. Then there's the horribly constucted Piano Concerto No. 2 (Rachmaninoff)...I need some major help with that. *wink, wink*
Anyhow, don't worry, I know WP:NOT. I'm not Myspacing or anything. :) —La Pianista (TCS) 16:02, 21 September 2008 (UTC)
I didn't mean anything like that. It's just that your awards show you were VERY active earlier, much more than now (or maybe that's what it looks like to me). So I thought you were having a semi-break thingy. Chamal Talk ± 16:21, 21 September 2008 (UTC)
No, that's true. For a while, I was totally immersed in article building. Then I got rollback and started vandal-fighting. However, now Huggle won't work on my system (and my admin coach suggested I go back to article building for a while, to build up a curriculum vitae).
Or...maybe it's just that people aren't awarding me as often. ;) —La Pianista (TCS) 21:40, 21 September 2008 (UTC)

You have new messages on my talk page. :) —La Pianista (TCS) 18:06, 22 September 2008 (UTC)

Chief Warrant Officers?

RQP recommended me to ask you about your Chief Warrant Officers something-or-other...

You know, I never thought this WikiNation thing would take so much! I was the third to join it, after Editor510 and Darkside2000, and it was at first just a small affair - a three-person thing. Then, when I told RQP about it, she messaged everyone she knew, and, being the gregarious editor she is, here we are. :)

But I'm rambling...it's almost one in the morning here, so I guess I'm half-delusional by now. —La Pianista (TCS) 05:52, 24 September 2008 (UTC)

Hmmm.... I don't know. I'm kind of busy these days with schoolwork etc... and will be for some time to come. I don't think I'll be very involved in WikiNation again. Chamal Talk ± 01:10, 25 September 2008 (UTC)

Whoaaah!! wait, wait! I didn't say I was leaving Wikination. I'll be dropping by from time to time. Thanks for the honour though. Yeah, I wasn't expecting something like that. And this is the second time I've been mistaken for a girl here in Wikipedia. I'm male, for Wikigod's sake!   (maybe I should add that to my userpage) Chamal Talk ± 14:53, 26 September 2008 (UTC)
No worries, before my explicit name change, I was thrice considered masculine. I got fed up with it after the third time and always point out the feminine "La" in my name. ;) —La Pianista (TCSR) 02:50, 29 September 2008 (UTC)

Project

I've been a fairly peripheral member anyway, and as it happens I'm going to be away quite a bit in October, so I'm unlikely to show many signs of life in the short term at least jimfbleak (talk) 06:34, 27 September 2008 (UTC)

I have never been an active member myself. Most of the experienced people seem to have left. I'm just trying to see if we have enough people to get it running again. If we do, then we can get organized and try to work together. If you can help in any way, no matter how minor, please add yourself to the new list. Cheers. re: Advice needed

Peer review is best initially. It typically takes around a month. If you want to get really good feedback, contact editors of similar or related articles and ask them to comment. All the best, --ROGER DAVIES talk 14:45, 28 September 2008 (UTC)

Thanks. I'll go for the peer review first then. Chamal Talk ± 14:46, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
Good! I'll keep an eye open for it :) --ROGER DAVIES talk 15:16, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
It's currently nominated for DYK, so I'll wait until it is accepted/rejected and see if any suggestions come from the fellows over there. Then I can make any changes if necessary and put it up for peer review. Chamal Talk ± 15:20, 28 September 2008 (UTC)

Images

Sorry, I know little about images. I'm not involved in that area. (Dang, my first adoptor was an expert on this) I would see Wikipedia:Non-free content and ask the question at the help desk or to a user who does that type of editing.

For the FL (more my specialty ;) ), here my my comments for it.

Strengths

  • References are in line.
  • Images for every prime minister.
  • Nice little bio for each

Weaknesses

  • Article needs a larger lead, one that covers the entire page, maybe talking about each minister for a sentence.
  • One prime minister does not have a reference in his bio. You need one for every person. (See List of Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim managers)
  • As you pointed out, some images might not be in line with copyright guidelines.

If you need help with this, feel free to ask. I'd willing to help you.--LAAFansign review 16:56, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
