Hey, I'll be commenting on a sectional basis.

First Section - Tectonic evolution
The sentence "Its formation was closely related with..." is somewhat unwieldy. You might try "tied to" instead of "related with," and "to the collision" makes more sense than "during the collision."
The sentence about the location of the South China Sea is unclear about how much tectonic activity the area will experience and why. Rephrasing sentence 4 (clockwise rotation, subduction, and extraction) wouldn't hurt.

Second Section - Rifting System Development
The sentence about rifting in the Eocene could be rephrased for clarity/to get rid of redundancy. Near the end of the paragraph, about the differences in rifting stages, your wording is unclear, such as saying "the reasons behind these differences in its rifting stage could be various." This doesn't really tell the reader anything. Strike-Slip faults appear to be linked for no reason at the end of the paragraph, was it an unfinished thought?

Third Section - Seafloor Spreading "All sea floor rifting evidence from this region comes from magnetic anomalies." would be a clearer sentence. In the last sentence of this section, your use of the word "terminated," while correct, is unorthodox. "Stopped" or "ceased" would work well too!

Fourth Section - Tectonic Models In the collision-extrusion model, "A strike-slip fault showed up." is strange wording, it "formed." When you say "The sea floor terminated with the collision stopped," does this mean that it stopped where the collision stopped or WHEN it stopped? It's unclear. In the subduction-collision model, it is stated that the model could not be interpreted "in kinetic." In kinetic what, in a kinetic model? You should clarify that. In the hybrid model, you should reword the first sentence, it seems to say that subduction was accompanied by subduction.

Fifth Section - Closure of The South China Sea
How exactly did the collisions change the topography of the sea basin?

Sixth Section - Subsidence
In the first sentence, "Due to various the extension rate and crustal sentence," you're missing a vital part of the sentence. Due to various what?

General Comments
Overall, I agree with Austin's comments and saw no reason to reiterate them, I'm sure he'll repeat them here. You made excellent use of pictures, explained the tectonics of the area quite well, and made a great article!

Intro

edit

Some of the wording is bulky " A subduction boundary exists with the collision between the Philippines sea plate and Asia Plate" could be compressed a bit. Succinct delivery of information is the name of the game.

Rifting system development

edit

Pictures need to be a bit bigger. Figure 2: make the image bigger and the caption smaller, you wouldnt need as much explanation if we could see the map I like the idea of putting images on the left and right, but I would avoid putting an image on either side of the text, it just jams the text into a gap. Stagger the images to prevent that.

Tectonic Models

edit

"A key question of the rift and seafloor spreading process in the South China Sea Basin is what is the main force? This question will be addressed in this part." this is clumsy, compress.

General

edit

I like the number of pictures, in general they need to be larger, but they all are useful and help illustrate the points you are making once you can see them. Despite the fact that I like it, I think you may need to sacrifice some images in order to make them larger. This will ultimately make things more clear though

Hi Chang21liu - as an unrelated editor, I've been reading a few of your class's articles so far, and I must say that they are quite good! However, I noticed that when you were leaving comments on other editor's talk pages, you did not "sign" (see this page). To sign, just type ~~~~ <--!nowiki tags not included, neither is this thing here -->at the end of your post - it will automatically convert into your username, a link to your talk page, and it will also leave a timestamp. (I have a fancy signature because I customised it, but you don't have to do that). Thanks! Darylgolden(talk) 09:22, 28 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
