Thanks for the feedback

edit

Thanks for the feedback you left on Outreach Wiki about the orientation for educators! The version you went through was the first draft that we used last term, but the current version now lives on Wikipedia: Wikipedia:Training/For educators. In broad strokes, it covers the same ground, but it's been refined quite a bit based on feedback from people who went through it (although much of your feedback is still relevant). Sorry about the confusion; I've marked the beginning of the old version on Outreach Wiki with a note pointing to the current version. Cheers--Sage Ross (WMF) (talk) 01:36, 7 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Ah, thanks for letting me know! I'll review the new tutorial as well. Glad some of the feedback was still pertinent. Charbooth (talk) 21:29, 7 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Librarian Campus Ambassadors

edit

Wondering if you'd be interested in starting a conversation about librarian campus ambassadors? No firm ideas at the moment, just noticed that there are at least a few of us list on the campus ambassador page. Feel free to talk on my user talk page for now, although if we think this discussion is worth continuing, we should probably make a Librarian Campus Ambassador page. Here it is. I'm glad that Jami (Wiki Ed) scored the coverage from the Los Angeles Times so I could use it for this article. Of course, I'm glad you're actively working with faculty to get students involved in Wikipedia. None of this happens without you. Chris Troutman (talk) 05:07, 6 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Absolutely agreed that Char is so vital to this course's success! Great job on the signpost article, Chris! Jami (Wiki Ed) (talk) 18:51, 7 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Requesting your help

edit

Hi Charbooth, I'm relatively new to Wikipedia as a user, so I'm not sure of all the protocols to communicate but I think the talk page is like where I can post messages, right?

I'm an English Language Development teacher in the LA area. I'm thinking of having my high school English class contribute/begin/edit some articles in Simple English. They are English Learners, so I think this would be less challenging, less crowded, and less high-stakes than the main English site. I haven't seen any other teachers doing the same with their students. Do you have any advice?

Also, would you be in a position to help our class (online, Skype conversation, etc) if our project goes forward?
