However, please do not add promotional material to articles or other Wikipedia pages, as you did to Cannabis cooking oils. This new article, as with your edit to Cannabis foods, appear aimed at promoting a specific brand. Text should be written in a neutral point of view to inform the readers, not promote a product.   Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Cannola. While objective prose about products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Your edits still appear to be aimed at promoting the Cannola brand. Hi Fred, I noticed that the previous entry under Cannabis Foods was elucidating instructions for a very unsafe practice of amateur rendering of cannabis oil. Cannola is the only safe brand I've been able to find in most legitimate dispensaries. It's labeled with content information and is stated as organic. I'm not promoting their brand, but it's been promoted to me by various cancer and MS patients. I think that the rapid popularization and even legalization of medicinal marijuana calls for the responsible representation of cautionary info as well as information on existing safe and legal products which are quality controlled and available exclusively to patients with valid prescriptions. I'm not a fan of smoking in any form and edibles are the way to go for all MMJ patients. Wiki's lacking greatly on relevant info and posts so just let me know the best way to go about it.
Oh, I also noticed that Cannola points to a redirect to canola and that's just incorrect. If anything, Cannola is literally the plural of Cannoli, but obviously it should point to the Cannola brand. Further, under Cannabis Foods it only refers to a singular oil while there are dozens of varieties and blends which range greatly in smoke point and application.
I've turned Cannola back into a redirect to Canola. I checked dictionaries, and the plural of cannoli is cannoli, although cannolis may be used at times. The singular is cannolo.
As for the unsafeness of home extraction, if you can provide a source, I've got no problem with saying that a certain authority (e.g., a Dutch food safety group or multiple cookbook authors) recommends against home extraction. Then, the article isn't advocating a course of action, but it is instead reporting others' statements and recommendations.
Finally, remember that the article needs to maintain a world view. It should mention not only products available to medical marijuana users in the US, but also products available over the counter to casual customers in the Netherlands. On further consideration, no one misspelling is more prominent over the others, and I can find Google hits where cannola is used as an alternate form of cannoli. Accordingly, I'm seeing if the page should best be structured as a disambiguation. —C.Fred (talk) 15:24, 16 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
