As a suggestion, you might be less frustrated with getting your edits reverted by reading the guidelines for Neutral point of view and Verifiability. I do agree that the legal status of Hawaii could use some more discussion, but with anything under debate, you need to use citations to some verifiable sources, not just state something you "know" is true. One good place to start for example is Kenau Sai who has done a Ph.D. dissertation on the international law aspects.
