Reliable sources

edit

Thanks for adding sources to Wikipedia. It's important that all info on Wikipedia be verifiable; however, we do have a policy on reliable sources, whereas most blogs and self-published sites aren't valid references. Thanks, OhNoitsJamie Talk 00:59, 21 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Florrie Fisher birthdate

edit

Hello-- I saw you recently added a birthdate to the Florrie Fisher biography. Can you provide a reliable source for that date? Thanks! Jokestress (talk) 06:15, 24 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for adding that source! Unfortunately, IMDb is not considered a reliable source, so I have removed it. We need a book or newspaper article. If you have any questions, please check out the reliable source policy. Thanks! Jokestress (talk) 18:08, 24 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
Hi again. The source you just added is also not a reliable source, unfortunately. It had a bunch of misinformation about her later life until I updated this Wikipedia article with the Rotarian epilogue that reported her death. If you find a book or news article (not a website) that meets the reliable source policy, we can definitely use that. I spent a lot of time looking, and the best I could find was her autobiography, which is not consistent about her age. Jokestress (talk) 20:17, 24 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
Hello again. There is no reliable source found to date that states Florrie Fisher's birth date is September 18. A website that guesses this is not based on any verifiable information in a reliable published source. Her year of birth has been given as 1918 or 1920 in published sources, but I am not aware of an actual date given. If you have a source that is reliable and verifiable (not a website), we can add that date. Otherwise it is someone's random guess and can't be added as far as Wikipedia is concerned. I know it's annoying, but we have this policy in place so that we do not spread possible misinformation. Let me know if you have any questions, and thanks again for other work on the article. Undoing edits to Sexual Objectification

edit

Hi, I've noticed that whenever I put up any edits or additions to the Sexual Objectification page (including those with references), that you take them down. I'm a little confused about why that is; could you please let me know? Tebbe (talk) 04:55, 2 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi - I received your message saying that you found these paragraphs to be irrelevant. I respectfully disagree with this, as I actually find them to be quite relevant to the topic. I'm not sure if there is a better forum for us to have this discussion, but I wasn't able to find a way to message you directly. Tebbe (talk) 15:57, 7 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Tough Guys, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Hijacking (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver).
