There are four types of good Wikipedia editor, the content creator, the noticeboard poster, the vandal fighter, and the gnome.
The content creator
editThe content creator has 90% of their edits in Article: and the other 10% in Talk:. Their userpage is littered with FA and GA icons. Every year they participate in the WikiCup and their talk page's most frequent editor is Legobot. They usually have autopatrolled, and their most common barnstar is Writer's.

The noticeboard poster
editThis editor's namespace count is all blue, blue, blue. They often post to the drama boards, but also sometimes !vote in AfDs, or consider change at the village pump. Their talk page is most often edited by Yapperbot, who is the Feedback Request Service messenger. These editors als have a subgroup, noticeboard actioner (administrator). These users are most often admins, though sometimes they are pseudo-admins (Levivich, EEng).

The vandal fighter
editThis editor's pie chart is 45% red (rv), 45% purple (warn), 10% blue (report). Their talk pages are full of three things, Defender of the Wiki barnstars, Anti-Vandalism barnstars, and "I didn't vandalize" messages. They often have thousands of edits to WP:AIV. They use Twinkle, Huggle, and RedWarn frequently and have hundreds of thousands of edits. They are sometimes administrators (Oshwah, Materialscientist), in which case they block. Of the non-admins, they almost always have rollback.

The gnome
editThis is a very diverse class of editor, and can have edits in almost any namespace. However, they have two things in common: Frequent usage of AWB, and small, error-fixing edits. See Wikipedia:WikiGnome for more information.
