Speedy deletion nomination of The Wondering Brit
editYou may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
A tag has been placed on The Wondering Brit requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject of the article is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
at the top of the article, immediately below the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}
) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate), and providing your reasons for contesting on the article's talk page, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. You may freely add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
You may want to read the guidelines for specific types of articles: biographies, websites, bands, or companies. JamesBWatson (talk) 07:51, 5 August 2010 (UTC)

editPlease do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with this edit to The Wondering Brit. Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion, and make your case on the page's talk page. Thank you. JamesBWatson (talk) 07:54, 5 August 2010 (UTC)
Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Finborough School do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used as a platform for advertising or promotion, and doing so is contrary to the goals of this project. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. JamesBWatson (talk) 08:02, 5 August 2010 (UTC)
Advice
editI have read your message at Talk:The Wondering Brit. I could have simply deleted the article, but instead I put a speedy deletion tag on it to give you a warning. I suggest looking at WP:GNG and WP:BIO to see what is required for an article. WP:RS is probably worth a look, too. JamesBWatson (talk) 08:27, 5 August 2010 (UTC)
I have now read your message on my talk page. I do hope this is not the end of your time on Wikipedia. I can understand how you feel about this article, but it is still possible to do other useful editing. I think it is easier to come into Wikipedia by making little edits to existing articles at first. This way you gradually learn how things work, and after a while writing a whole new article is much easier. Obviously, it's up to you, but I would encourage you to stick around and not be pout off by this early experience. JamesBWatson (talk) 09:23, 5 August 2010 (UTC)
