Hi there,
I'm new to Wikipedia editing and was using my Sandbox to draft one short addition to my already published Wiki page. There was never any intention of that standing alone in any way. I assumed that would be clear.
But, other than that, can you say if the draft was worded and formatted properly?
Thanks,
Chris ChrisJohnson112211 (talk) 05:13, 29 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

COI

edit

On the assumption that Chris Johnson (artist) and (photographer) are the same person, the link at your userpage needs to be amended. Thank you. Eagleash (talk) 13:51, 31 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

That might have been my fault @Eagleash when I did the disambiguation, although I think either needs to be lowercase. Mr. Johnson, you seem to work mostly as a photographer - would that be how you describe yourself? Star Mississippi 14:30, 31 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Star Mississippi: Ah right; well it's not a problem, I just happened to spot the redlink when checking COI had been declared. Cheers. Eagleash (talk) 15:27, 31 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
I edited it as it's clear they were making spirit of declaration and (I assume) there will be a redirect if it moves. Thanks for flagging @Eagleash Star Mississippi 16:37, 31 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
Artist is the best description for me at this point in my life. I would like to remove or otherwise make the (photographer) version go away. I’ll keep researching how to do that. Thank you. 2601:643:8C80:5D70:F102:F384:F8FC:2B74 (talk) 16:24, 31 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thanks Mr. Johnson. I've just realized we have two pages. Will explore history merge or other solution. Star Mississippi 16:46, 31 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
I'm confused as to why we now have 2 articles, rather than simply renaming one of them. -Lopifalko (talk) 16:51, 31 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
because they were created in parallel with slightly different titles @Lopifalko. Unfortunately the history merge failed and the only editor I know who did it without blinking has passed away. I'll find the page and put in a request. Star Mississippi 17:33, 31 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
ETA: this is done. Copying here to be sure Mr. Johnson sees it. If you'd like to make other suggestions, you can use Edit Requests on the article Talk. Star Mississippi 19:37, 31 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
I see that now Chris Johnson (photographer) now redirects to Chris Johnson (artist) which is fine. Now there's only one page for me to work with. I just wonder if there might be a way to make the title "Chris Johnson (photographer)" available for someone else to use someday..... But I'm not going to worry about that. Thank you very much for your help with this. ChrisJohnson112211 (talk) 19:49, 31 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
There's a way that can be solved if a notable photographer with the same name comes along, but we'll worry about that down the road. Thanks for your help providing more info on your work throughout this. Star Mississippi 13:49, 1 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. The one titled Chris Johnson (artist) is the one I’d like to keep. Thanks again ChrisJohnson112211 (talk) 17:16, 31 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Artnet Citation

edit

I can't tell if it was you who deleted the link to the QB:BM website that I had added to the infobox and then added the reference to Ben David's Artnet piece about our QB project being one of the defining works of art in this decade. If it was you, thanks very much! I had never seen that and it very gratifying!

I would still like to make the link to the QB website easier for readers to find. Any ideas of where would be the best place to include it?

Thanks ChrisJohnson112211 (talk) 23:41, 1 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi @ChrisJohnson112211. That artnet piece was great. I'd found it when looking for a little context as to just how many places Question Bridge had been shown. The challenge with the infobox where you added the link is although two display, it only clicks through to one so wasn't very user friendly (or editor friendly, to be honest). I'll try to see where else we can include it and come back to you with that. Star Mississippi 02:03, 2 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
