Now that the abuse filter is running, I would recommend that you move the code from your bot into the abuse filter. That way, your program can stop the abuse before it happens rather than immediately reverting it. -- IRP ☎ 00:22, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
- I know about the abuse filter. Currently the filter cannot block so there are advantages and disadvantages to moving some of my bots code across. For instance I moved across my bots code for the 'Hi, Good Site' spam bot to filter 78. That works fine because a warn is enough to stop the spam bot. However there are still some actions that need a block response to properly stop the abuse and I will continue to run those under AntiAbuseBot --Chris 01:05, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
By the way, I would recommend that you create a userpage or redirect it to your talk page. I noticed that your userpage is blank. -- IRP ☎ 17:52, 28 March 2009 (UTC)

Help Wiki
I know that you're on wikibreak, but let me leave this message for when you're back :) I was having a look at my talk page archive and I found and remembered this message you left me ages ago. Just curious about what happened/if anything happened with all the data :) Happy editing, ♠TomasBat 04:52, 9 April 2009 (UTC)
- It was one of those things that I meant to get around and finish but never did. Now I don't even have the xml files. Sorry. --Chris 09:08, 23 April 2009 (UTC)

Why did you delete my photo? Glenn Francis (talk) 09:12, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
- I deleted it per WP:CSD#F4. It had no licensing information. --Chris 09:18, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
- In fact the version you uploaded was moved to commons some time ago and is now available as File:Apollonia Kotero.jpg. I deleted another version of the image that was uploaded after yours. --Chris 09:29, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
OK., Thanks, Chris, for the explanation. :)
Pictures without copyright tags
Just a request to be a little slower on many of these pictures without copyright tags: for some reason, a bot went around some time ago and removed valid US government copyright tags from many photographs derived from the US Congress. Today you warned User:AmericanIndependence about three that s/he had uploaded that are this way; I've restored the license to two, and another user has restored the other. No complaints about your work, and I can't imagine a good reason to have an image without a copyright tag; just wanting to make sure that valid images don't get deleted. Nyttend (talk) 11:58, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you for informing me of this, I will be more careful when I see 'RockfangBot' in the image history :) Also I think I should point out that User:AmericanIndependence is a sock puppet of a banned user. --Chris 12:11, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
- Along these lines: File:Wal-Hist_package.jpg has been fixed - I can't believe I forgot the damn tag. Sorry you've been troubled. --User:AlbertHerring Io son l'orecchio e tu la bocca: parla! 13:16, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
- Really...well, still, per IAR I can't imagine how it would be helpful to remove these images for that reason, since they're useful and without problem, and deleting for that reason would simply mean that someone else would have to go around and re-upload them. Thanks for your work! Nyttend (talk) 14:36, 27 April 2009 (UTC)

whywesuckcover image
I have actually uploaded a much higher resolution image (on Why We Suck's page and with proper licencing) and want to remove this image. I thought that after a few days, it would be deleted, but the deletion date seems to keep moving forward! I don't know what to do and I don't know how to remove this image! I think I need some help here... Thanks! Amicianthony (talk) 21:34, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
- I've deleted the image for you. --Chris 23:48, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
Wellstone marker
I must have forgotten to put the PD-self on it. But that was like 10 months ago. I'm surprised it took so long for it to be caught. Usually it's within an hour. Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots 01:45, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

Macintosh Garden
Hi Chris, you recently deleted the talk page Talk:Macintosh Garden because it was a discussion about a non-existent article. I am trying to get the Macintosh Garden article reinstated. I have asked for the article to be unbanned in the appropriate category, but have not received a response, I'd just like some clarity on the issue. Could I please have your opinion on my draft? I've temporarily put the draft on the talk page. Thank you - Wishstik (talk) 13:46, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
- The article looks fine. I've unprotected the article page so you can move it over. --Chris 10:09, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for your concern
regarding the copyright issues around some pictures that I added to the Samuel Yellin article. They were posted in 2004 when the whole template scene was very different. Most of the pictures date from pre-1923, but I also did contact the author of the book that I got them out of and asked for permission to use them on wikipedia, which he granted. That fact is noted as a comment somewhere on the image page. If you still feel a need to delete these and I do understand that such needs can be very deep rooted, then go ahead. Einar aka Carptrash (talk) 14:44, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
- The problem is →"For an image to be considered "free" under Wikipedia's Image use policy, the license must permit both commercial reuse and derivative works." Just having permission to use them on wikipedia is not enough, otherwise they come under fair use. If you do however add a valid copyright tag (I think {{Attribution}} and one of the {{PD}} templates may be applicable) I won't delete the image --Chris 10:26, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
