Hi, Alastair, and welcome. Can you put the source of your excellent Black Woodpecker image somewhere, so we know that it not copyright? I assume it's your photo, but you need to say that.
When I get the chance, I'm going to replace the image with a smaller one and a link to the large picture. (done)
If you have any questions, or need some help, let me know on my talk page jimfbleak 18:20, 30 Sep 2003 (UTC)
- Incidentally, to keep the Americans happy, it is policy to have a lower case redirect for bird articles (I've done it for Black woodpecker. Jim
Hi Alastair. If you have any other images of birds you are willing to put on wikipedia, that would be excellent, since we are lacking non-copyright mages for many species. The taxobox in Black Woodpecker gives you the format. Small pic 250-260 pixels usually, large media linked pics, up to 100k size. Incidentally, to sign a message, type three tildes ~~~, or four to add date and time, and the software will convert. jimfbleak
I've just found Northern Hawk Owl - another brilliant pic. It hasn't taken you long to crack the taxobox layout. I know Islington very well, although I now live near Leicester. I must go to see the Finnish owls one of these days. Jim
better quality image
edityou uploaded Image:Pgymyowlthumb.jpg which was copied to commons as Image:Glaucidium passerinumRB.jpg however its very low resoloution which gives us no flexibiltity to resize it to match the rest of the taxobox and would also pose a problem for anyone wanting to make high quality prints of wikipedia articles. any chance you could replace it with a higher resoloution copy?
