Hello, Chvngan. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Kogonada, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Yoshi24517 (Chat) (Very Busy) 21:23, 13 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

The issue is that what was published is incorrect. I can provide his ID for proof if it's helpful Chvngan (talk) 21:24, 13 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
As the warning says, Do not edit the page. Ask for changes on the talk page, and provide reliable sources to prove your point. Yoshi24517 (Chat) (Very Busy) 21:26, 13 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
As another note, you have not given the required paid-editing disclosure. It is required per Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use. Please do so. See the above link in the warning for how to do so. Yoshi24517 (Chat) (Very Busy) 21:34, 13 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Apologies. I've only donated to wikipedia but have never contributed or flagged anything before. I just disclosed everything in the talk section. Thank you Chvngan (talk) 21:36, 13 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
It's a start, but you must also do so on your user page. Yoshi24517 (Chat) (Very Busy) 21:39, 13 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Do you have a link to how I can do that by chance? Also I put it up on the talk section. Who can I talk to change it to his correct given name? I can get a copy of his ID. Want to make sure an incorrect given name isn't circling on the internet Chvngan (talk) 21:43, 13 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, there is a certain template to use, bear with me because it has been a while since I've last looked at the template. I have to go find it. Yoshi24517 (Chat) (Very Busy) 21:49, 13 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Unless you can genuinely prove without a shadow of a doubt that it is his ID (like with Reddit AMA's where the person holds their username up next to their face), it's highly unlikely that the content can be removed solely because it's sourced content; sending a copy of his ID alone won't really work as they can be faked.
Further to what's been said by Yoshi, if you're being WP:PAID for your contributions in any way then you must declare it as per Wikipedia's terms of use. CommissarDoggoTalk? 21:49, 13 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
An alternative method would be for this Kogonada fellow to post something on a social media platform giving their full name, as that would fall under the allowable criteria for WP:SOCIALMEDIA. CommissarDoggoTalk? 21:52, 13 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
He's going to put up his correct name on his instagram. Do I just need to use put a link in the source material? Or how do we get it changed? Chvngan (talk) 22:16, 13 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

I've now edited the page to reflect this. CommissarDoggoTalk? 22:35, 13 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thank you so much! Could you please also remove the hyphen? And lastly what do you recommend we do for the incorrect source that the name was originally pulled from?
Thank you again!! Chvngan (talk) 22:41, 13 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
There isn't anything we can do about sources to be honest, sources contradict each other pretty often and, seeing as Wikipedia reports on what sources say, it can be a pain sometimes. CommissarDoggoTalk? 22:45, 13 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
No worries. Thanks so much for your help! Chvngan (talk) 23:56, 13 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Sorry another question, am I allowed to get rid of the word pseudonym in this sentence since we established already in the same paragraph that Kogonada is his professional name: Kogonada—a pseudonym—is a regular contributor to Sight & Sound Chvngan (talk) 01:03, 14 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
And when it comes to publishing his given name, is it possible to not publish it at all and just keep it as Kogonada for privacy reasons, or is that not allowed? If his given name has to be published, could we do what's done with Bong Joon Ho and put Kogonada's given name in korean right next to it which is 박중은. Sorry again for all these questions and really appreciate your help and guidance Chvngan (talk) 05:24, 14 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Chvngan, apologies for the wait, the correct template is {{paid|employer=name of employer|client=name of client}}. Yoshi24517 (Chat) (Very Busy) 21:55, 13 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thank you so much! So when I change it, do I need to put this source code in? In my use page I put that I work with Kogonada. Sorry for all the questions. This is all so new to me. Chvngan (talk) 22:18, 13 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Also who can change the name to reflect his correct name? https://www.instagram.com/kogonada/?hl=en Chvngan (talk) 22:28, 13 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
That's done, but the template, yes you would put that source code in, replacing employer with whoever and/or client with whoever. Yoshi24517 (Chat) (Very Busy) 23:15, 13 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for this. And when it comes to publishing his given name, is it possible to not publish it at all and just keep it as Kogonada for privacy reasons, or is that not allowed? If his given name has to be published, could we do what's done with Bong Joon Ho and put Kogonada's given name in korean right next to it in parentheses (박중은). Sorry again for all these questions and really appreciate your help and guidance Chvngan (talk) 15:01, 14 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to Kogonada, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Thank you. CommissarDoggoTalk? 21:40, 13 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

I'm happy to provide an ID. What is the best way to do this since the source material is incorrect? Chvngan (talk) 21:44, 13 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
