Rosagammarus
editHello. A few months ago you removed the reference to Rosagammarus minichiellus from the Amphipoda article, stating that Fossil interpretation has been revised. Could you provide your source for this? Regards --Macrochelys (talk) 19:05, 16 November 2014 (UTC)
- Hi Circulationsys, we would still be curious to know the basis of revising the view about that species and publication (McMenamin, Zapata & Hussey 2013). Is there any reference to that? Best wishes --Ttjew (talk) 23:48, 28 February 2015 (UTC)
- Greetings! Several independent research groups are re-examining Rosagammarus and supposedly a joint abstract is forthcoming. I will post here when I have the citation. Best, Circulationsys (talk) 00:40, 1 March 2015 (UTC)
- Here is the citation. I heard mention that in spite of the revised interpretation, this is still the best arthropod fossil found so far in the Luning Formation of Nevada. https://gsa.confex.com/gsa/2015NC/webprogram/Paper256121.html Circulationsys (talk) 00:59, 5 March 2015 (UTC)

A note about your contributions
editHello there! I've noticed your contributions are largely centered around the paleontologist Mark McMenamin and his research. You've contributed extensively to the biographical article, and have often added McMenamin citations to articles, sometimes with apparent original synthesis such as here [1], or undue weight towards McMenamin's work ([2]). While I assume your contributions are good faith efforts to improve the encyclopedia, your edit history suggests you may be connected in some way to the person (deepest apologies if I am wrong), and I would remind you of relevant policies and guidelines such as Conflict of interest, WP:PROMOTION, WP:SELFPROMOTION, as well as WP:NPOV and WP:FRINGE. Certainly there are cases where McMenamin is very appropriate to cite or mention, others, arguably less-so, or only with due weight and context. Whether you are a colleague of, student of, friend of, or the subject himself-- or even if you have no connection whatsoever to the subject-- care should be taken to ensure your contributions are in line with neutrality, balance, and objectivity, not selective, or one-sided, or unduly focused, at the risk of resembling a single purpose account. I am not accusing you of any egregious wrongdoing, only reminding you of the importance of adhering to the above guidelines, in any Wikipedia article. You might also discuss significant edits on Talk pages before making them, especially if they could reasonably be interpreted as a contentious, biased, or an extreme minority view. All the best, --Animalparty-- (talk) 21:35, 28 February 2015 (UTC)
