Edit to selegiline
editI have several questions about your recent edit to selegiline, "Administration of transdermal selegiline bypasses hepatic first pass metabolism. This avoids an inhibition of gastrointestinal and hepatic MAO-A activity with consequent tyramine increase and possible adverse effects, while sufficient amount of selegiline reach the brain for an antidepressant effect."
You state that transdermal patch of selegiline avoids inhibition of GI MAO. Is there significant GI MAO activity to make a difference? It would be nice to have this supported by a citation. Further, tyramine is not going to increase unless it is consumed, so that statement about "consequient increase of tyramine" is imprecise.
