Christian Massinburg Soc of Gender 4/13/2017 Society and fatherhood Rough draft

My paper is going to be a study about fatherhood and their children from a sociologist point of view. I am going to answer questions such as, “How does society view fathers as a whole?” , “ Also questions such as,” how do race and ethnicity come into play when analyzing how fathers are perceived ”.

· I am going to start my essay with a couple of the stereotypes that society has made for father's pertaining to parenting, and their relationship with their children.

· Next I am going to elaborate on how the media and commercials portray fathers and their children,

· Next, I am going to make points about how the role of the father was to go out and work all day and how in some instances their roles can be changed as the family cook.

· Next I am going to talk about Gay couples and their roles with kids when having a partner.

· Finally I will discuss race and how society portrays the African American father.
