Background: b 1952, UK

Honours Degree in Biochemistry, BA, University of York, 1973

35 years experience as an Industrial Chemist, including years since 1994 running by own businesses selling Oils to Aromatherapists, or working as Consultant Biochemist to similar businesses. Also, since 2004, running business consultancy advising others on business start-ups.

2010: writing profiles on Essential Oils and other products for aromatherapists. Using Wikipedia as part of researches I realised that on some occasions my own knowledge was more than that on the pages that I was reading - so decided to be a contributor/editor.

Often what I see is that original contributors have opted to offer one of many possible explanations as fact. This is a common problem throughout the whole of complementary or alternative medicines - much of what is reported is anecdotal, reflecting an individual's personal experience and/or prejudice. Also, much of what has been previously written is simply re-written along with original errors; opinions get repeated as facts.

My objective is to edit pages on these topics so as remove errors, ensure opinions and anecdotes are described as such, and to clarify ambiguities.

I would welcome correspondence with anyone with shared interests...
