Welcome!
editHello, Clairethursby80, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Brianda and I work with Wiki Education; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.
I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Irish Home Rule movement
editHi @Clairethursby80, I see you selected to work on the page, Irish Home Rule movement. I want to let you know this is a contentious topic, and any edits made will have to fully adhere to Wikipedia policy and guidelines. Be ready to engage with other editors on the talk to discuss/improve your planned edits. I suggest that you steer clear of highly contentious topics, since they can be challenging even for the seasoned editor.
Some reminders if you decide to move forward with this topic:
- your work will be under heavy scrutiny by the community, and will require high quality work, meaning their edits will need to follow all Wikipedia policies
- Take a look at the article talk page to identify any disputes that might be ongoing
- visit the archived talk discussions to see if your proposed contributions might've already been discussed
- if your edits are reverted, do not start edit warring, rather engage in a discussion and inform the Wikipedia Expert and Instructor about it**
- assume good faith and always be respectful and polite (especially bc they might have to negotiate and discuss their edits with the community)
Let me know if you have any questions. Looping in @Profcates. Brianda (Wiki Ed) (talk) 17:41, 17 September 2024 (UTC)
