Don't add bogus embedded notes

edit

Don't add bogus embedded notes as you did here. There is no discussion on that article's talk page about the wording of how the subject killed himself. Many journalistic sources prefer "died by suicide" as it avoid stigmatising a suicide victim, since "committed suicide" is laden with the ascription of a Catholic sin.   Hello, I'm ProcrasinatingReader. I noticed that in this edit to List of awards and nominations received by Kevin Costner, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. ProcrasinatingReader (talk) 13:54, 14 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add or change content, as you did at Rithvik Dhanjani, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Diff: [1] Cyphoidbomb (talk) 20:06, 14 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Note also that we use DMY dates for Indian subjects, so the correct formatting of the {{birth date and age}} template would be {{birth date and age|df=yes|YYYY|MM|DD}} where "df=yes" triggers the day to appear first. This would be the appropriate formatting. And for the written out date, "born 5 November 1988" would be correct. Thank you. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 20:08, 14 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Anne Bancroft, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Home for the Holidays (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Sushant Singh Rajput, you may be blocked from editing. Diff: [2] As previously noted, no conversation has been held on the talk page where a consensus was built about the phrasing of the subject's death. Your assertion that it has, and your mandate that it not be changed, is therefore erroneous and indistinguishable from vandalism. If you make this change again without establishing a proper consensus, your editing privileges will be interrupted. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 15:22, 17 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

This is your only warning; if you violate Wikipedia's biographies of living persons policy by inserting unsourced or poorly sourced defamatory content into an article or any other Wikipedia page again, as you did at Alia Bhatt, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. regentspark (comment) 20:45, 20 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Re: File:Allison-janney-at-29th-annual-palm-springs-international-film-festival-awards-gala-01-02-2018-8.jpg, do not upload images and claim them as being licensed in the Creative Commons if you cannot prove that they are actually licensed that way. There is nothing at the content-scraping website hawtcelebs.com that would lead us to think they own the copyright on that image, and there's nothing clearly marked as in the Creative Commons.

Wikipedia takes copyright violations seriously. If you do it again, your editing privileges will be pulled. You're already on thin ice for your recent disruptions, including the clear vandalism at Alia Bhatt. If you're not willing to learn our copyright policy, then don't upload images. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 22:26, 20 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Claudia, since I'm contemplating whether or not you need to be blocked for copyright violations, what is your answer to the question above? Cyphoidbomb (talk) 17:07, 25 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
Since you haven't bothered to respond, if you are not willing to follow our copyright policies, you shouldn't attempt to upload images, since you may find yourself violating copyright laws. If you are interested in uploading images, you need to be familiar with our policies, including WP:NFCC, and you need to make sure you don't add any more erroneously licensed images. Frankly, if I were you, I'd steer clear of it. Any more copyright violations, and that includes mis-appropriating text found on other websites, will result in your editing privileges being interrupted.Cyphoidbomb (talk) 20:38, 26 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Allison Janney.

  • Resolve the copyright violation issue before reintroducing the image

I have changed her Wikipedia profile picture to most recent one (from 2018 with the current one from 2008) The 2018 picture has been approved an not removed as of now Claudiajeancregg2000 (talk) 15:40, 25 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

It has not been "approved". You claimed the image was in the Creative Commons, which appears to be inaccurate, as far as I can tell, since you haven't answered my query above. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 17:11, 25 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi , I just want to know why you wrote on Sushant Singh Rajput page that it's a suicide by hanging...

Do you have any proof? Don't tell us about so called doctors report....

Kindly don't write anything which you don't know. Thanks dear. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.11.225.141 (talk) 07:11, 29 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
