Some questions
editYour username is against Wikipedia policy, as it appears to be a company/organisation name. It also suggests the policy of conflict of interest and/or paid editing, as your username appears to be the same as [1], which is a website design company. Therefore, per Wikipedia's conflict of interest and paid editing policies, I urge you to answer the following:
- Are you affiliated with the company [2]?
- Do you have an external relationship with Robert Hanley, who you seem so keen on drafting an article about? If so, please disclose the nature of the relationship- are you being paid by him to create an article about him on this website?
- How many different users are using this account? All you edit summaries on Draft:Robert Hanley use the phrase "we", implying multiple users are using the account- this is not permitted. Joseph2302 (talk) 23:41, 6 July 2015 (UTC)
I do website design (savio designs is my sole propietership, and Robert Hanley is a Church friend that I have had the honor of assisting with his website. Since they aren't too computer savy, they asked me to help them in getting an article on Wikipedia...they wrote the article and are giving me citations, I created the account to post it - but i am the only one with access to this account. Saviodesigns (talk) 23:44, 6 July 2015 (UTC)
- So they are a friend, but they're not paying you to write this article, correct? In which case you have a conflict of interest, please read WP:COI. You are therefore strongly discouraged from creating a page where you have COI, although not forbidden. Joseph2302 (talk) 23:49, 6 July 2015 (UTC)
Correct, they are not paying me to post it - i am just trying to help them out as he and his wife are not computer savy. Saviodesigns (talk) 23:50, 6 July 2015 (UTC) They have paid me for the website work I have done for them, but i told them i would be happy to post the article for them (without payment) - I didn't realize how time consuming of a task this would be. Saviodesigns (talk) 23:54, 6 July 2015 (UTC)
- So they paid you to do some work, and then you decided to create a Wikipedia article for them for free? Seems strange to me, but I'm willing to assume good faith and assume that's true. In which case, you still have a conflict of interest. Worth pointing out right now that I'm not an admin, so cannot unblock you- I'm just another user, who's trying to find out all the facts. I assume an admin will be along soon to review your request, and they'll no doubt review this conversation too. Joseph2302 (talk) 00:02, 7 July 2015 (UTC)
I appreciate it - they paid me to add in a CMS to their existing site - due to all the time that it took, and since they are friends, I mentioned I would post the article for them - they wrote it/etc. I am simply submitting it for them as they aren't too comp savy. Thanks for the info though - it is the first thing I have tried to post on Wikipedia - I didn't realize how complicated it would be. Saviodesigns (talk) 00:11, 7 July 2015 (UTC)
