Proposed deletion of Zero Emissions Day

edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Zero Emissions Day, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? TNX-Man 20:43, 20 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

I have nominated Zero Emissions Day, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Zero Emissions Day. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. License tagging for Image:Zedworld.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Zedworld.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 22:10, 21 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Zero Emissions Day

edit

Hi! I'm glad to see you're interested in contributing to Wikipedia. Writing an article straightaway can be a tough way to jump in, but if you feel up to it, this guide is really helpful. The best way to ensure that an article is kept is to have reliable sources to back it up. If you'd like, I can create a sandbox page for you to practice on your article without having to worry about it passing muster right away. If you have any questions, I'll be happy to help out, or hopefully point you in the right direction. Cheers! TNX-Man 23:50, 21 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Guide and Sandbox

edit

Thanks for pointing out so diplomatically what I now realize I should've done in the firs place. I finally went and read "What Wikipedia is Not", and many of its stubs, which clarified that my article relates more to advocacy than to content typical of encyclopedias. However, it may occupy a bit of a gray area, so I'll wait for the final verdict while I explore the guide and sandbox options, and see if it's possible to dig up one or two reliable sources. I appreciate your creative patience in dealing with an inexperienced user.Cliffewiki (talk) 01:52, 22 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

No problem. I have created a sand box for you (User:Cliffewiki/Sandbox), if you would like to develop an article there. Be sure and note, though, that this will not be an article in the main Wikipedia, just a personal user page. Once you feel it's ready for the "real thing" you can put it out into the mainspace. I've done it for another user, and you can have a look at the article he's been developing here. Cheers! TNX-Man 02:42, 22 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Feedback archived

edit

Hi there.

A while ago, you requested feedback in WP:FEED. Because it has been a while, and you'd received at least some response there, I have now archived the replies in Wikipedia:Requests for feedback/Archive/27. Please do not edit that page though; if you require further feedback, add a new request on WP:FEED.

I am trying to clear the backlogs; it would help us a lot if you could look at the requests from other users on WP:FEED and add any comments to help them out. Anyone can respond there, so please do take a look, and comment on the articles from other people.

If you want help with anything at all, you could either;

  • Leave a message on my own talk page; OR
  • Use a {{helpme}} - please create a new section at the end of your own talk page, put {{helpme}}, and ask your question - remember to 'sign' your name by putting ~~~~ at the end; OR
  • Talk to us live, with this or this.

The last of those is particularly useful - please try it; pop in now and say hello. Best,  Chzz  ►  03:10, 29 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

MyTalkPage personal reference section

edit
  • {{helpme}} (use this to ask questions), OR
  • message Mono, who gave xlnt help on 5/29/10: user talk:Mono (his talkpage).
  • User:Chzz/help/refs, useful help recource from Chzz (see his message above).
Do I need to keep all that old stuff about ZeDay, or can I delete it?

I have some good news and some bad news.

File permission problem with File:Photo of the American composer John Lessard, circa 1960.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Photo of the American composer John Lessard, circa 1960.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. 07:28, 9 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Your submission at Articles for creation

edit

John Lessard, which you submitted to Articles for creation, has been created.

You are more than welcome to continue making quality contributions to Wikipedia. Note that because you are a logged-in user, you can create articles yourself, and don't have to post a request. However, you are more than welcome to continue submitting work to Articles for Creation.

Thank you for helping improve Wikipedia!
