It seems that the more there is a safe space to speak the more Gaia indicates how in modern culture we cut ourselves off from nonlinear group intelligence by separating ourselves with personal clothing, personal beds, personal houses, personal bank accounts and so on. The separation weakens the community field to the point of subservience to modern culture marketers. We buy things to compensate for being cut off, and use TV as false community. In next culture we need the nonlinear group intelligence back, so how to reconnect and strengthen the village field?
File permission problem with File:Atmoshperic CO2 CH4 Degrees Centigrade by Reg Morrison.gif
editThanks for uploading File:Atmoshperic CO2 CH4 Degrees Centigrade by Reg Morrison.gif. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sailsbystars (talk) 14:40, 22 June 2014 (UTC)
Dear Sailsbystars, Thanks for helping me with this. I am definitely a newbe, and to compound things I am on the road. I will get proof up there ASAP. Meanwhile, I could not figure out how to delete the misspelled file. The one that needs to be deleted is the one that is not connected to, actually the one you cited above, because the first word is misspelled as "Atmoshpheric." Could you help me delete that one? But LEAVE the other file which is Atmospheric_CO2_CH4_Degrees_Centigrade_by_Reg_Morrison.gif Then I will get some proof posted. Thanks. Clinton
- Actually your misspelling would have been easier to correct if you hadn't uploaded to new file. Wikipedia actually lets you move files and pages from one name to another. :) However, it's still easy to fix. Just go to the misspelled image and click "edit" and add {{Db-self}} to the top and a friendly admin will come along to delete the misspelled version "shortly" (usually a few hours).
- Regarding the licensing, you need to provide proof the Original Image was created under the creative commons license. I couldn't find any evidence for that when I looked... but I'm also not sure the source you list is truly the original source for the image. Sailsbystars (talk) 16:16, 22 June 2014 (UTC)
- Okay, thanks, you've fixed the licensing issue! Your caption in the article is problematic though. The methane clathrate hypothesis is pretty speculative. Sailsbystars (talk) 16:31, 22 June 2014 (UTC)
Jeez, you are on it! Cool. Thanks again for your collaboration. It helps. By "methane clathrate hypothesis" being speculative you mean that it was not a contributing factor in the "great dying" of the end-Permian? How much have you been studying this? Methane is specifically named even at this wiki page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mass_extinction. And I could give you many additional analysis. What I am more concerned about is your defense of the 550ppm as "scientific consensus". I mean, are you getting paid to defend this statement? Or are you merely missing a solid reference to some other number. Because the current reference to 550ppm is really weak, really just one guy's opinion in the intro to the paper. Are you open to talking about this? Because there are people out there who try to rely on Wikipedia's information being accurate, and 550ppm CO2 is a very old idea. I mean, I remember at the university where I studied physics the professors told us not to worry because we had 200 years of coal to burn even if the oil eventually did run out. Boy were they wrong. So let me know, okay? Thanks. Clinton
