Thank you for your welcome messageeditThanks for your kind and useful welcome message. I like your new name! Avenue 13:17, 6 Dec 2004 (UTC) Hey, I just saw your welcome message on my talk page (like 2 months after. LOL) But thank you so much for it. It's nice to see that there are nice people here :) --Rafa 22:19, Feb 15, 2005 (UTC) Watching over meeditI was scared to get this notice that someone was watching me, but I feel better now. THanks. The Humungous Image Tagging ProjecteditHi. You've helped with the Wikipedia:WikiProject Wiki Syntax, so I thought it worth alerting you to the latest and greatest of Wikipedia fixing project, User:Yann/Untagged Images, which is seeking to put copyright tags on all of the untagged images. There are probably, oh, thirty thousand or so to do (he said, reaching into the air for a large figure). But hey: they're images ... you'll get to see lots of random pretty pictures. That must be better than looking for at at and the the, non? You know you'll love it. best wishes --Tagishsimon (talk) I couldn't find the use of these terms in my dictionary, nor have I ever come across them in my extensive reading of bird books. Do they apply to all cranes, or just some species, perhaps Common Crane or Sandhill Crane? Is this a term restricted to the US, or does it have wider currency? Please revert my reversion if I've got it wrong, I just wanted to be sure of the accuracy of the statement since i didn't recognise your user name. jimfbleak 06:24, 9 Dec 2004 (UTC) Have you considered "running" for the arbitration committee? Just thought I'd throw it out there! -Zenosparadox 07:30, 9 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Many thanks. -- ClockworkSoul 23:04, 9 Dec 2004 (UTC)
RFC pages on VfDeditShould RFC pages be placed on VfD to be deleted? I'm considering removing Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Slrubenstein, Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Jwrosenzweig and Wikipedia:Requests for comment/John Kenney from WP:VFD. Each of them was listed by CheeseDreams. Your comments on whether I should do this would be appreciated. - Ta bu shi da yu 03:29, 10 Dec 2004 (UTC) RequesteditHi, Neutrality and I are engaged in an edit war. He has also contributed to a request for arbitration (and RfC) against me. He has just blocked me. Please note that the block occurred just after I had discovered a new RfAr against myself, and was starting to provide rebuttals to it. I consider this an abuse of his adminship. Could you look into this action, and consider whether un-blocking me is appropriate? CheeseDreams 23:14, 10 Nov 2004 (UTC) Mmmm... vandalseditThanks, I wasn't expecting a welcome message. :-) I'll mostly be contributing with minor edits, but when I see a short, disparaging comment as an entry, I'll probably be reporting vandals, too! Deathphoenix 00:57, 11 Dec 2004 (UTC) Barnstar of vigilanceeditWhat do you want it to look like? I'll make one. Pedant 08:21, 2004 Dec 11 (UTC)
ohediti too was a software developer, and i too was laid off, and whats more i am also intrigued by genetics -- but i shall probably maintain my (proudly) dilettante status in that area... Hxa7241 14:56, 11 Dec 2004 (UTC) Thanks for the welcomeeditHi. Thankyou for your welcome. However I am already expirienced with wiki. I have a question though. Do you know how I would be able to hide the index (the articles listed by name or number) of articles in a category, so it just shows the editable page content? --Hierarchypedia 18:47, 11 Dec 2004 (UTC) Sock puppetseditHi, could you possibly take a look at this and see whether you think these are sock puppets? If so, could you consider banning them for vandalism (and the use of sock puppets), so that, by use of the autoblocking, it becomes possible to work out who they really are?

CheeseDreams 15:49, 13 Dec 2004 (UTC) Thanks for the welcomeeditI have so far not contributed much, only a few minor edits. I thought of translating one into English (from Norwegian), but so far I have not gotten around to that. --hans 09:22, 15 Dec 2004 (UTC) GrazieditI've already written a dozen or so articles here and there before now though. I have one question though, that i've had trouble finding in the help pages provided. How do I make an article capable of being linked by words other than it's title? IE, the page on Long Range Surveillance should also be linked by LRS, but only the former does so. What tag is necessary here to give the namespace addition? For the record I've 3 years of service in LRS, 5 in the army, 1 in combat. RLTW! Those wacky wikilinkseditPosted to User talk:Wakowill If you want to make LRS link to Long Range Surveillance, you simply put the new name inside the link, seperated by a |, as follows: [[Long Range Surveillance|LRS]] Your result will be this: LRS. I hope this helps! -- ClockworkSoul 14:26, 15 Dec 2004 (UTC) Deletion, merge, do nothing?editI can't figure out what to do with an article that isn't an article, just a header, and isn't necessary or useful for any reason. Except I added Talk page to this nonexistent article. Do I request some particular action, or what. What I have in mind particularly is US Exclusive Economic Zone whose title existed because somebody tried to link to it from United States Coast Guard, and linking there to the already existing Exclusive Economic Zone is exactly what was needed. I've fixed that link (the only one that appeared on the What Links Here page). Does anything need to be done about the empty one (especially since I added that talk page to it)? Wishing you the besteditJust dropping you a note wishing you a very Happy Holiday and that this New Year may bring you and your loved ones happiness and lots of joy. Your friend in Wikipedia Tony the Marine The FACs of LifeeditSalve, Clockwork!
A Thank You, and a request for helpeditThank you for the welcome message. Chemical warfareeditSorry for the late reply and thanks for dealing with my "objections" on FAC (none of them were really objectionable). You've tackled a much more ambitious task than I did with the WWI article. Geoff/Gsl 05:13, 1 Jan 2005 (UTC) Sri LankaeditGodric, regarding the Sri Lanka political situation, the answer is that the country is in a low-level civil war. See Tamil Tigers for some info. I think it's important to mention M. A. Mohanraj's point that many of the religious charities in the region are indeed funding insurgents, counterinsurgents, or plain old terrorists. In fact maybe that should be moved to the top of the page instead of relegating it to the Sri Lanka section. People who want to send money to those organizations are entitled to do so, but they should know what they're getting into. As for the endorsement of Savordaya, that's a secondary issue. Maybe the easiest approach is to just remove the endorsement and leave the other stuff. Phr 00:13, 2 Jan 2005 (UTC)
Not quite,,,editIf you want to make LRS link to Long Range Surveillance, you simply put the new name inside the link, seperated by a |, as follows: Your result will be this: LRS. I hope this helps! Sorry, perhaps I was not being clear. If an article already exists as a name, ie Long Range Surveillance, and I want it to be searchable by a common synonym (LRS) how do I go about that? As it is now, searching for LRS or LRRPS return no results, even though the page exists under a different name. Re: Not quite...editPosted on User talk:Wakowill
I think I understand. Perhaps what you wish to create is a "redirect" page. To do this, create a new article called LRS (click on this red link to do that). In that article, place only the following text:
Whenever anybody goes to the "LRS" page, they will be automagically forwarded to Long Range Surveillance! I hope this help more than the last info I gave you... feel free to ask again if I'm still being dense. – ClockworkSoul 08:53, 2 Jan 2005 (UTC) Newcomer awardeditThanks very much for the newcomer award - thought I'd better start with something I knew about. :-)editI came across User:ClockworkTroll/Name the Admin Candidate just now and was truly impressed by your willingness to compromise for the community's sake. Not everybody would be willing to take a step back during such personal debates, as I've witnessed before at the RfA. I don't really know you, but I hafta say that what you did there was very admirable. That act alone showed your sincerity and coolheadness, hence your adequacy as an admin. So, here's a belated symbolic vote of support. WP has way too much stubborness and closed ears. I'm glad to see a sign of WP's friendly and cooperative spirit again. Anyway, "ClockworkSoul" sounds way cooler! --Menchi 02:21, 7 Jan 2005 (UTC)

I've been improving the article and was looking for something to put on the right hand side as far as an image, and I stumbled across your human evolution template. I made some changes, is that OK? It was not in use, but I really like the concept of linking the various pieces of the human evolution project together with such a template. I did change the float from left to right as well, but I'm not sure how that will look on the pages where a taxobox also exists. I rewrote the intro to the human evolution article also I'm working on exanding it look at the talk page for info on that.Look forward to your comments/suggestions. --JPotter 08:37, Jan 29, 2005 (UTC) Wow!editI like your caption at the top of your userpage.....(This user is insane. The only fault of mine was not checking up on the info. However, you might want to discuss this with the contributor of that information, Kevin Rector, on the AmSouth Center (Nashville) article for validity. -- Riffsyphon1024 19:41, 17 Feb 2005 (UTC) Armenian translationeditHello, i'm Toxic from Armenian Wikipedia. I read in one talk page that you need Amenian translator so I can help you with your translation task, from Armenian or to Armenian.00:52, 21 Feb 2005 (UTC) Chemical warfare signature imageeditIt has been pointed out to me that my assumption that Image:Dressing the Wounded during a Gas Attack (Austin O Spare).jpg was public domain is wrong. There's a good chance it is, but I don't know for certain, so I was hoping to get it deleted. It can probably be uploaded again after 15 May next year (2006) when the life+50 rule would apply. In the meantime, it might be safer not to use it with the featured article text. I'm really sorry about this.
