Information icon Hello, Cloudbase Mayhem. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about in the article Gavin McClurg, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. Melcous (talk) 13:44, 4 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

  • Hi and thanks for your message on my talk page. First thing is that you have a clear conflict of interest as McClurg's agent, so you should not be editing his page at all. You can make suggestions on the talk page instead. Most importantly, if you have edited this article as part of your work then you MUST disclose that - see WP:PAID.
  • In terms of the article itself, there are a few issues. I removed some words like "prominent" and "noted" - these are against wikipedia's policy on neutrality as they are "point of view" words. Another key policy of wikipedia is verifiability, which means that everything must be sourced to reliable, secondary sources. At the moment there are plenty of claims in the article that are not sourced (for example under the heading Film and videos). If these are not provided with sources, they should be removed from the article.
  • Finally, please do not remove the maintenance tags at the top of the page - these indicate the current issues with the page under wikipedia's guidelines. As an editor with a conflict of interest, you should let someone else determine if and when these have been resolved. Thanks, Melcous (talk) 07:14, 5 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
