Gibraltar

It is a nice place to visit, as I discovered myself earlier this month, but don't let Jayen466 find out that I told you so. ;-) Prioryman (talk) 00:06, 25 October 2012 (UTC)

Lloyds TSB

Hi, Cloudbound, I'm beginning the copy-edit to the above article you requested at the GOCE request page. Please feel free to contact me, and to correct or revert my edits if I'm doing something I shouldn't. Cheers, Baffle gab1978 (talk) 06:36, 2 November 2012 (UTC)

Done - please feel free to contact me about any issues arising from the copy-edit. Cheers, Baffle gab1978 (talk) 09:04, 2 November 2012 (UTC)

A cupcake for you!

Hi Cloudbound. Apologies for not messaging you when you removed my previous edit (of the Logo on the 'Department for Work & Pensions' page). I couldn't work out how to message you until now!

Thanks for changing the logo to the new one, although I thought the version I'd provided was better, as it was slightly larger. I'd got it from their intranet site (I'm an employee) and it is for general public usage - but I couldn't work out how to describe it such on Wiki's rather confusing upload forms.

I'd never uploaded a picture before. Thanks for changing it though! StuartPlymouth (talk) 15:55, 12 November 2012 (UTC)

Hello, this is just to let you know that I restored the vector logo of the Home Office that you replaced with raster graphics (a document/website screenshot). Wikipedia strongly encourages using vector graphic for emblems and logos (see WP:IUP) and the official HO logo has not changed, so I see no reason of your move. kashmiri 08:30, 16 November 2012 (UTC)

Same with regard to the UK Border Force logo. Also, UK Government logos cannot be uploaded on Wikimedia as they are not free. kashmiri 08:41, 16 November 2012 (UTC)

Reviewer rights

I have approved you for reviewer rights per your request at permissions. Also, while I'm here, thanks for all of your work with images. I'm one of the admins who often deletes the older revisions of the images that you edit and frequently come across your work. Kind regards, James086Talk 16:58, 15 January 2013 (UTC)

Your technical move request

Hello Cloudbound. Please consider withdrawing your technical request about HSBC Bank (Europe). You have proposed using the suffix 'plc' in the article title. There is a guideline called WP:Naming conventions (companies) that says specifically *not* to use suffixes like 'plc' or 'Ltd' in article titles. Thanks, EdJohnston (talk) 02:03, 25 January 2013 (UTC)

Now it's my turn to apologise for delay. But I have at last concluded my list of queries at the GAN page. Over to you. Tim riley (talk) 10:07, 17 February 2013 (UTC)

Messenger status

Hello, Cloudbound

I saw your edit in Template:Windows Live and visited Messenger source to see who is right. Well, it seems pretty much discontinued to me: It is no longer available for download. (Discontinuation is defined as the vendor ceasing to market, sell or distribute the product, right?) So, what makes you think it is not discontinued?

Best regards,
Codename Lisa (talk) 02:56, 18 February 2013 (UTC)

Hello.
It appears you are not the only one thinking that way, meaning that if made the change, it has the potential to be reverted. So, I guess I let it stay put for now.
Best regards,
Codename Lisa (talk) 05:54, 19 February 2013 (UTC)

Smooth Radio 105.2

Hi Cloudbound. I replaced the 105.2 image you removed from the page as that is the logo for Smooth in Scotland. If you change location on their website to one in Scotland (such as Glasgow) that logo pops up in the left-hand corner of the page. I'm also not sure whether it's possible to use the same logo on two different pages as sometimes that can present copyright problems. Paul MacDermott (talk) 18:36, 1 March 2013 (UTC)

Had to unexpectedly nip out for a couple of hours so apologies for the delayed reply. As long as it's ok to use this one on both I have no problems with you replacing it. I do believe the 105.2 logo is their official one for Scotland, so perhaps we could use that elsewhere in the article and have the main one at the top. Let me know what you think anyway. Paul MacDermott (talk) 21:09, 1 March 2013 (UTC)
Sounds cool, thanks. I think I took it straight from the website originally, so the quality's not too good. Hopefully a different format should improve things a bit. Paul MacDermott (talk) 21:32, 1 March 2013 (UTC)

Reward Board

Regarding your offer on the reward board, I have created 34 vector logos. I intend to keep on working through the backlog, though. Thanks, FrigidNinja 00:44, 5 March 2013 (UTC)

I now have 50 logos done, available on the same page, but don't worry, I won't stop because of a barnstar! FrigidNinja 03:20, 6 March 2013 (UTC)

Your request for undeletion

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that a response has been made at Wikipedia:Requests for undeletion regarding a submission you made. The thread is File:Carphone Warehouse logo.svg. JohnCD (talk) 09:34, 7 March 2013 (UTC)

Intu Victoria Centre

I disagree with this move. They can call it the Intu Victoria Centre all they want, but the WP:COMMONNAME will still be "Victoria Centre". -mattbuck (Talk) 22:03, 22 April 2013 (UTC)

Alliance UniChem/Healthcare

Hi Cloudbound. Back in 2010 you redirected Alliance Healthcare to Alliance Boots as a result of some merger, but it looks like the redirect effectively deleted lot of information about the history of Alliance UniChem/Healthcare before the merger (Alliance Boots#Formation for example refers to Alliance UniChem as a "main article" but this page is simply a redirect back to Alliance Boots). Would you be able to help me find where this info, currently lost in the obscure page history of Alliance Healthcare, was moved to, or, if the intention was to delete it, why it was deleted? I appreciate it was a few years ago. Ireadthesite (talk) 22:07, 28 May 2013 (UTC)

TemplateData is here

Hey Cloudbound

I'm sending you this because you've made quite a few edits to the template namespace in the past couple of months. If I've got this wrong, or if I haven't but you're not interested in my request, don't worry; this is the only notice I'm sending out on the subject :).

So, as you know (or should know - we sent out a centralnotice and several watchlist notices) we're planning to deploy the VisualEditor on Monday, 1 July, as the default editor. For those of us who prefer markup editing, fear not; we'll still be able to use the markup editor, which isn't going anywhere.

What's important here, though, is that the VisualEditor features an interactive template inspector; you click an icon on a template and it shows you the parameters, the contents of those fields, and human-readable parameter names, along with descriptions of what each parameter does. Personally, I find this pretty awesome, and from Monday it's going to be heavily used, since, as said, the VisualEditor will become the default.

The thing that generates the human-readable names and descriptions is a small JSON data structure, loaded through an extension called TemplateData. I'm reaching out to you in the hopes that you'd be willing and able to put some time into adding TemplateData to high-profile templates. It's pretty easy to understand (heck, if I can write it, anyone can) and you can find a guide here, along with a list of prominent templates, although I suspect we can all hazard a guess as to high-profile templates that would benefit from this. Hopefully you're willing to give it a try; the more TemplateData sections get added, the better the interface can be. If you run into any problems, drop a note on the Feedback page.

Thanks, Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 22:07, 28 June 2013 (UTC)

Article Feedback Tool update

Hey Cloudbound. I'm contacting you because you're involved in the Article Feedback Tool in some way, either as a previous newsletter recipient or as an active user of the system. As you might have heard, a user recently anonymously disabled the feedback tool on 2,000 pages. We were unable to track or prevent this due to the lack of logging feature in AFT5. We're deeply sorry for this, as we know that quite a few users found the software very useful, and were using it on their articles.

We've now re-released the software, with the addition of a logging feature and restrictions on the ability to disable. Obviously, we're not going to automatically re-enable it on each article—we don't want to create a situation where it was enabled by users who have now moved on, and feedback would sit there unattended—but if you're interested in enabling it for your articles, it's pretty simple to do. Just go to the article you want to enable it on, click the "request feedback" link in the toolbox in the sidebar, and AFT5 will be enabled for that article.

Again, we're very sorry about this issue; hopefully it'll be smooth sailing after this :). If you have any questions, just drop them at the talkpage. Thanks! Okeyes (WMF) 22:01, 1 September 2013 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:DMG Media.png

Thanks for uploading File:DMG Media.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 16:22, 9 October 2013 (UTC)

Africa and India Business Reports

I am the creator of the pages Africa Business Report and India Business Report respectively. I have since noticed that you have edited Midle East Business Report (a page I frequently edit) by adding the picture of the titles. I would very much appreciate if you could do the same of both of the stated articles above.

Much appreciated, --Mrsolan22 (talk) 22:17, 18 January 2014 (UTC)

Internet Explorer 11

Hi.

I am afraid I am failing to verify the assertion of build 16476. But please be careful what your edit means: Even if a 16476 is indeed out there, this update does not change the time. RTM version would always be 16428, came out 6 November.

Best regards,
Codename Lisa (talk) 23:23, 10 February 2014 (UTC)

P.S. Looks like cross-posting occurred. No, "idiotic" is not a nice word; not civil; I don't like it. But your edit was too questionable. Best regards, Codename Lisa (talk) 23:25, 10 February 2014 (UTC)

Yes, perhaps. I am sorry. You know what? I must calm down. I am ceasing editing immediately, effective right now.
But I insist on a very strong source. Very very strong. "Update your web browser" is not a source. It is original research. And my web browser has a higher version number. Your intention is good; I don't doubt you for a moment. But your source; I am afraid not! One year from now on, even you won't be able to defend your edit and prove that it was correct Best regards, Codename Lisa (talk) 23:34, 10 February 2014 (UTC)
Hello again.
The problem was that I stepped over the line. I almost edit warred. And I am sorry. Civility is more important than sources. I didn't took this into consideration. Consider it a self-revert and my review in part of the latest update null and void. Someone else can review your edit and upload. Effective now, I neither support nor oppose.
Best regards,
Codename Lisa (talk) 01:04, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
A repentant edit warrior! How touching! No offense intended, but you must know how your sentence looks from the outside. Both of you: One revert is okay, two is not. Please talk to each other before it happens.
As for your source problem: Replace it with the download page of the update package. It will satisfy those who wish to see the latest version. Five years from now, when the source will be unavailable, someone will come around and delete the version number as unreferenced. By then, none of you give a dime. (Even you'll be surprised to see how you cared so much about it.) Fleet Command (talk) 13:16, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
